Marvin Ford Basham,

Marvin Ford Basham, 82, of Maceo, went to be with the Lord on April 30, 2015.  Marvin was born in Daviess County on October 7, 1932 to the late Iva and Hattie Lancaster Basham. He was a member of Maceo Baptist church, served in the US Army, and retired from Daviess County Sand and Gravel after more than 35 years. Marvin was also an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing.

Bobby Gene Embry

Bobby Gene Embry, 73, of Beaver Dam, passed away, Thursday, April 30, 2015 at Ohio County Hospital. He was born November 11, 1941 in Butler County to the late Jimmy and Christine Embry. He was a member of Longview General Baptist Church and was a retired distributor for Royal Crown Bottling Company.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Wendell Embry and his sister, Sue Johnson.

Stanley Joe Roberts, 49, of Bowling Green, Ky. passed away Thursday, April 30, 2015. Stan was born April 20, 1966, in Bowling Green, Ky., the son of Joe Van and Sheilia Roberts.

He is also survived by his children Landon Roberts, Spring Patton, Grace Roberts; grandchildren Adelin Patton and Avery Patton; and brothers Van Roberts, Mark Roberts, and David Roberts.

Jeannie Dean Perkins, 33 of Bowling Green, Ky. passed away April 28, 2015 at Vanderbilt University Hospital in Nashville, TN. Jeannie was born September 12, 1981 in Bowling Green Kentucky to Wendell A. and Sheila Perkins Johnson who survives. She is preceded in death by one brother Wendell A. Johnson Jr.; grandparents Dollie May Perkins, Zill Ray Prekins, Ebb Johnson, Juanita Elizabeth Johnson.

Geniva Johnson, 84 of Morgantown, Ky. passed away Thursday, April 30, 2015 at her residence. Geniva was born October 9, 1930 in Butler County, Kentucky to the late Charlie Fields and Ethel Mae Wolfe Wells and wife of the late William Everett Johnson. She was a member of Temple Hill General Baptist Church and a homemaker. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband and one son Roger Johnson and several brothers and sisters.

Edwin Nels Pietila, Jr.

Edwin Nels Pietila Jr. age 66 years, peacefully went to be with the Lord on April 26, 2015. Edwin was born on July 11, 1948 in Park Rapids MN to Edwin Nels Pietila and Thelma Makinen Pietila. Edwin graduated from Menahga High School in 1966. He attened Wadena Technical School and started his career working for IBM. He was a proud Storage Tek employee with 41 years of service. Edwin married Myra Rose White Blair on September 18, 1985.

Effie Christie

Effie Sorrels Christie, 86, of  Morgantown, Ky., passed away Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at the Mogantown Care and Rehab Center in Morgantown, Ky. She was born in Christian County on July 17, 1928  to the late Ora and Sadie Latham.  Mrs. Christie was a homemaker, loved flowers and was of the Baptist faith.  She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband Willie Sorrels, second husband Jack Christie, seven brothers and sisters.

Layverne C. Drake

Layverne C. Drake, 81, of Beaver Dam, passed away Sunday, April 19, 2015. He was born October 29, 1933 in Ohio County to the late James Oscar and Vera M. Drake. He was a United States Army Veteran and was avid University of Kentucky Basketball fan. Layverne was a member of Beaver Dam Baptist Church and he worked as a contractor.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Janice F. Drake and two brothers, Sharrell R. Drake and Thurman D. Drake.

Tilman R. Cardwell

Tilman R. Cardwell, 64, of  Leitchfield, Ky., passed away Friday, April 17, 2015 at the Medical Center in Bowling Green.  He was born in Morgantown, Ky. on January 24, 1951  to the late Chester and Fanny Brooks Cardwell.  Mr. Cardwell worked in construction as a drywall contractor.  He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Leitchfield.  He loved fishing, gardening, building birdhouses and being outdoors.  He enjoyed playing with his dog and his grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents and one son Gregory Dewayne Cardwell.
