Velma Oral Peay

Velma Oral Peay, 86, of Rochester, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on March 12, 2017, at Morgantown Care & Rehab after a brief struggle with cancer.
Velma was born on September 10, 1930, the daughter of Willie Hudnall and Lestie Stearsman Hudnall.  She married Paul Peay on October 14, 1946. He preceded her in death in 2001 after 55 years of marriage.
Velma was a member of Rochester Baptist Church and had an unwavering faith in God.  She met all friends and strangers with a smile and loved nothing more than gathering her family around her kitchen table.

Daisy Belle Marshall Lytle

Daisy Belle Marshall Lytle, 80 of Beaver Dam departed this life on Friday, March 10, 2017 at Ohio County Hospital. She was born August 15, 1936 in Logan County, Kentucky to the late George Barney and Melissa Whitsett Marshall. Daisy was a very active member of Cool Springs Baptist Church, Vice-President of the Ohio County Historical Society and a member of the Taylortown Homemakers. Mrs.

Robert Joe Proctor

Robert Joe Proctor, of Morgantown, Ky. passed away Thursday, March 9, 2017 at Greenview Regional Hospital in Bowling Green.  He was born in Butler Co. on December 12, 1956 to the late Ivan and Evelyn Wilson Proctor.  He was a truck driver at Sunshine Trucking.  He enjoyed fishing, stock cars, NASCAR, being outside and working on vehicles.  He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and one brother.

Rodney Keown

Rodney Keown, 62 of Morgantown, Ky. passed away Friday, March 10, 2017 at the Hospice of Southern Kentucky. He was born Wednesday, December 15, 1954 in Butler County, Kentucky to the late Dorris "PeeWee" and Georgie Ann Miller Keown who survives. Rodney was a member of Aberdeen Missionary Baptist Church, a United States Army Veteran and he retired from Daciel Saftey System and a retired professional pool player.

Nancy Abbott Keown, 96, of Morgantown, Kentucky passed away Sunday, March 5, 2017 at Morgantown Care & Rehab. She was born September 28, 1920 in Butler County, Kentucky to the late John D. and Erdean Staples Abbott and was the wife of the late Thurman Keown. Nancy was a member of Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church and was a retired social worker in Warren County, Indiana.

Mary Ann Logan, 72, of Lewisburg, Ky. passed away Friday, March 3, 2017, at the Medical Center in Bowling Green.  She was born in Butler Co. on Dec. 8, 1944, to the late Clarence and Mary Lou Boyd Thomason .  She was a homemaker, member of Gospel Lighthouse Church and previous member of Caney Fork Presbyterian Church.  Mary Ann loved quilting, reading, and babysitting.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Willard Morgan Logan; 3 brothers Gary, Curtis and Warren Thomason; 3 sisters Exie Creek, Lula Wilson and Caffa  Forshee.

Mable Thompson Smith

Mable Thompson Smith, 76 of Lewisburg, Ky. passed away Monday, February 27, 2017, at the Morgantown Care & Rehab. She was born November 16, 1940 in Rineyville, Kentucky to the late John and Hester Howell Thompson and wife of the late James H. Smith. Mable was a member of Morgantown Community Church and she retired from Sumitomo Electric. Other than her parents and husband she is preceded in death by four brothers Paul, Richard, J.O. and Dean Thompson and two sisters Rita Rolle and Sue Buckles.

Donnie Drake

Donnie Drake, 61 of Morgantown, Kentucky went home to be with the Lord Friday, February 24, 2017, at Hospice of Southern Kentucky. He was born on Thursday, December 8, 1955, in Butler County Kentucky to the late Thurman "Dee" Drake and Celia Lynn Warren Drake who survives. Donnie was a Butler County High School graduate Class of 1973, a member and former deacon of Cool Springs General Baptist Church, owned and operated Drake's Contracting for 30 years, a member of Gideon's International Butler/Edmonson Camp, Cassia  Masonic Lodge #272 and an avid University of Kentucky fan.

Aretha "Punkin" Morris

Aretha "Punkin" Morris, 55, of  Beaver Dam, Ky. passed away Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at the Owensboro Health Regional Hospital.  She was born in Chicago, Il. on November 22, 1961.  She was a homemaker and a member of Bible Baptist Church in Beaver Dam. Aretha enjoyed cooking, texting with her family loved her dogs and reading.  She was preceded in death by her parents John and Betty Girten and daughter Susie Lindsey.
