Nancy Abbott Keown, 96, of Morgantown, Kentucky passed away Sunday, March 5, 2017 at Morgantown Care & Rehab. She was born September 28, 1920 in Butler County, Kentucky to the late John D. and Erdean Staples Abbott and was the wife of the late Thurman Keown. Nancy was a member of Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church and was a retired social worker in Warren County, Indiana. Other than her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by four brothers - Chester, Ardell, John T., and Vernon Abbott; four sisters - Reval Keown, Josephine Kolodziej, Justeen Dukes, and Evadean Abbott and her companion of many years, Troy Lee Penrod.
Nancy Abbott Keown is survived by two sisters - Ona Mitchell of Quality, Kentucky and Beaulah Middleton of Morgantown, Kentucky; one brother - Arlis Abbott of Indiana; adopted son Chucky Keown of Texas and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at the Jones Funeral Chapel on Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. with Bro. Derek Cain officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 7, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday 8:00 a.m. until funeral time at 1:00 p.m. at the Jones Funeral Chapel.
