Leslie "Bug" Johnson

Leslie "Bug" Johnson, 77 of Bowling Green, Ky. passed away Wednesday, January 4, 2017, at the Commonwealth Regional Specialty Hospital in Bowling Green, Ky., Leslie was born May 15, 1939, in Butler County Kentucky to the late Audley and Renie Johnson. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church, retired truck driver, and tree trimmer and loved his dog, Buddy. Other than his parents he is preceded in death by one daughter Angela Sue Johnson and one brother J.M. Johnson.

Georgia Ann Maxwell Clay Tafarella, 82, of Owensboro, Kentucky died January 2, 2017 at Lincoln Hills Health Center in New Albany, Indiana. She was born January 6, 1934 in Butler County, Kentucky to the late Mary Etta and Oda Maxwell. She retired from Seybert Nichols Printing in New York City in 1994 and retired after 9 years with Progress Printing Company. She was also a Senior Companion for Audubon Area Community Services. She was a member of Walnut Memorial Baptist Church and the Reliable Sunday School class.

Vindell "Shorty" Webster, 74 of Bowling Green, Ky. formerly of Morgantown, Ky. passed away Saturday, December 31, 2016, at the University of Louisville Hospital in Louisville, Ky. Vindell was born on Friday, October 16, 1942, in Butler County Kentucky to the late David and Louis Jenkins Webster. He was of the Presbyterian Faith, and a United States Navy Veteran, He had a career of 28.5 years with the Bowling Green Fire Dept. being hired as a fireman on May 1, 1969 with promotions along the way he became the Chief of Bowling Green Fire Dept.

Betty Ruth Grayson

Betty Ruth Grayson, 84 of Dunmor, Kentucky died on Friday, December 30, 2016, at her residence in Dunmor, Kentucky.

She was born Sunday, May 22, 1932 in Belton, Kentucky, to the late Ellis Wood and the late Elsie Beadnell Wood. She was the wife of Herald Grayson, who survives.

She was a homemaker and a member of Mt. Moriah Church of Christ.

Also surviving are brother, Charles Wood of Russellville, KY, sisters, Shirley Williams of Dunmor, KY and Brenda Collier of Central City, KY.

Jeffery E. White

Jeffery E. White, 51 of Morgantown, Ky. passed away Thursday, December 29, 2016, at the Hartford House in Owensboro, Kentucky. Jeffery was born May 2, 1965, in Grayson County Kentucky to  Opal L. White who survives and the late Essie Mae Culberson White. He worked many years hanging drywall and enjoyed being with family and friends.

Verner D. Cook, 95, of Morgantown, Kentucky, passed Thursday, December 29, 2016, at Morgantown Care & Rehab. Verner was born on Wednesday, December 14, 1921, in Butler County, Kentucky to the late Clyde R. and Meedy O. Proctor Cook and was husband of the late Thelma Maudrie Staples Cook. He was a member of Morgantown First Baptist Church and a United States Army Veteran serving during World War II and Korea. He retired during the Vietnam War after 23 1/2 years of service receiving the Bronze Star during World War II from General George S. Patton.

Wendell J. Kessinger, age 80 of Liberty Ky., formerly of Morgantown Ky., passed away Wednesday, December 21, 2016, at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville Ky. Wendell was born on November 27, 1936, in Butler Co. Ky., to the late Odie and Sylvia Lacefield Kessinger. He retired from Ford Motor Company after many years of service. Other than his parents he is preceded in death by one sister Ruby Kessinger Embry and three brothers Denzil, Gwendon, and Mendell Kessinger.

Randall Lee "Randy" Hamlet, 54, of Morgantown, KY, passed away Wednesday, December 21, 2016, at the Medical Center in Bowling Green, KY. Randy was born March 17, 1962, in Marion, KY to the late Arlie "Beaver" Smith and Virginia Nell Smith who survives. Randy was a retired river boat deckhand and a US Army Veteran.  He was preceded in death by his wife - Bobbie Jo Tarrance Hamlet.

Donald "Rayburn" Britt, 79, of Cromwell, Ky. passed away Wednesday, December 21, 2016, at his residence.  He was born in Simpson Co. on November 10, 1937, to the late David and Annie Eaton Britt.  He was of the Baptist faith, a truck driver for Goldenrod for 25 years, worked at Kendall Co.
