Kevin L. O'Brien 56 of Albany, Kentucky formerly of Morgantown, Kentucky passed away Sunday, August 20, 2017, at 2:00 pm at the Medical Center in Albany, Kentucky.   Kevin was born September 25, 1960, in Owensboro, Kentucky to the late Richard M. and Lois Faye Childers O'Brien
He recently retired from Clinton County School System & Foothills Academy after teaching special education after 27 years.  He took helping disadvantaged students very seriously.

Jonathan Tyler Brooks "Tyler" 23 of Morgantown, Kentucky passed away Friday, August 18, 2017, at the Medical Center in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Tyler was born November 1, 1993, in Bowling Green, Kentucky to Lloyd and Donna Crain Brooks. He was a 2012 graduate of Butler County High. He is preceded in death by two sisters Abagail Marie Dailey and Sami Jo Brooks.

James Christopher Holman "Chris", 44, of  Provo, Ky., passed away Monday, August 14, 2017 at his residence.  He was born in Bowling Green, Ky. on Jan. 6, 1973.  He was a member of Monticello Baptist Church and attended Southeast Christian Church in Louisville.  Chris was a Butler Co. High School graduate and went on to further his education at the University of Kentucky where he earned a degree in economics and was a member of the AGR Fraternity, he also received a MBA from Western Kentucky University.

Lolitta Embry Burnette, 69 of Bowling Green died Monday, Aug. 14, 2017 at the Medical Center.
The Butler County native was a daughter of the late Lindel and Margie Johnson Embry. She was preceded in death by three brother, Calvin, Donald and Billy Joe Embry. She was a clerk, cashier and cook and a member of Iva Baptist Church.

Jean Smith, 71 of Fort Pierce, Florida formerly of Morgantown, Ky. passed away Sunday, August 6, 2017, at the Lawn Wood Regional Medical Center in Fort Pierce, Florida. Jean was born April 6, 1946, in Muhlenberg County Kentucky to the late James Fleming and Lillian Lorene Reynolds. She was a retired EMT for the Butler County Ambulance Service and a retired dispatcher for the Butler County Emergency Services. Other than her parents she is preceded in death by one grandson Jeremy Smith and four brothers.

Sheila Jean Prairie, 69 of Morgantown, Kentucky passed away Monday, August 7, 2017, at the Medical Center in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Sheila was born September 16, 1947, in Owensboro, Kentucky to the late Earl Persinger and Anna Theresa Phelps Patrick and wife of the late Wayne Prairie. She was a member of St Joseph Catholic Church in Orlando, Florida and retired from the University of Central Florida as a custodial supervisor.

Jewel M. James, 81, of Bowling Green entered into rest Saturday, August 5, 2017 at Hospice House of Southern Kentucky. Jewel was born February 11, 1936 in Butler Co., KY and was preceded in death by his parents Jewel Leslie and Myrtle Cook James.

Jewel was real estate salesman, broker and property manager under Jewel James Realty and Property Management. He also had J & M Sales and Service installing T.V. Towers and Antenna’s. Jewel was an avid fisherman and loved to host fishing tournaments for his special fishing buddies. He was a member of Lehman Avenue Church of Christ.

Wendell Richard Christopher Flener "Chris", 31, of  Morgantown, Ky., passed away Monday, July 31, 2017 at his residence.  He was born in Warren Co., Ky. on Oct. 21, 1985.  Chris was a member of White Ridge Baptist Church.  He was preceded in death by his father, Ricky Flener; brother Nathan Flener; grandparents Wendell and Mae Lou Flener and Earl S. Combs.
 

Annie Pearl Peay Wester, 79 of Huntsville, Kentucky passed away Tuesday, August 1, 2017, at her daughter's residence in Depoy, Kentucky. Annie was born September 4, 1937, in Huntsville, Kentucky to the late Aubrey A. and Katie E. Hunt Peay and wife of the late Shelby Wester. She was a member of New Midway Baptist Church and a homemaker. Other than her parents and husband she is preceded in death by four brothers Joe, Albert, Elbert and Alex Peay; one grandson Mike Johnson and one daughter in law Penny Wester.
