Nevel "Lee" Phelps Jr.

Nevel "Lee" Phelps Jr., 73 of Morgantown, Kentucky passed away Wednesday, October 18, 2017, at the Medical Center in Bowling Green, KY. He was born March 5, 1944, in Butler County Kentucky to the late Nevel Phelps and Reva Embry Jones. Lee retired from General Electric in Louisville, parts manager at Roy Phelps Ford, worked as a coal miner and retired from IMCO. He was a member of Temple Hill General Baptist Church, devoted many hours to Butler County Athletic Booster and Butler County Cruisers Car Club.

Paisleigh Susana Mae Johnson, infant of Morgantown, Kentucky passed away October 18, 2017, at the Medical Center in Bowling Green, Ky. Paisleigh is the daughter of Kenneth and Kela Mann Johnson.

Paisleigh is also survived by one sister Rae Lynne Johnson; grandparents Tammie & Ronny Cardwell and Dawn Mann (Kenny); great-grandparents James & Linda Johnson and Gary Johnson (Mary); great- great- grandparents Ruth Pendley and Veachel (Bud) Johnson and several aunts, uncle and cousins.

Spillman Reynolds, 78 of Morgantown, Kentucky passed away Monday, October 16, 2017, at the Medical Center in Bowling Green, KY. Spillman was born March 9, 1939, in Butler County, Kentucky to the late Buckner and Oler Coleman Reynolds and husband of the late Betty Reynolds. He was a United State Army Veteran and a retired maintenance man. Other than his parents and wife he is preceded in death by one sister Louise Kurfiss and two brothers Wilbert and Eugene Reynolds.

Janette F. Burton, 56 of Morgantown, Kentucky passed away Wednesday October 11, 2017 at her residence. Janette was born April 29, 1961 in Warren County Kentucky to the late Glen Boone and Ida Alford Childress. She was a member of Oak Ridge General Baptist Church and employed at Sumitomo for 30 years. Other than her parents she is preceded in death by one grandson Tildon Cooper.

Mary (Frank) Crain, 77, of Caneyville, passed away Sunday, October 8th, 2017 at her residence surrounded by her loved ones. 

She was born on Thursday, May 9th, 1940 in Grayson County, the daughter of the late Robert Lincoln and Lucy (Kiper) Frank. Mary was a homemaker and devoted wife and mother.

George Bentley Phelps Sr.

George Bentley Phelps Sr., 81, of  Morgantown, Ky., passed away Sunday, Oct. 8, 2017 at Tristar Greenview Regional Hospital in Bowling Green. George was born and raised in Morgantown.  He joined the Army on Sept. 14, 1961, served 2 tours in Vietnam, 11 years in Germany, was stationed twice in Missouri and achieved the rank of First Sergeant.  He retired on Sept.

Wilma Jean (Mason) McKee passed away Tuesday September 26, 2017 in Orlando, FL at Plantation Oaks Senior Living. She was under the care of Kendrick Hospice. She was born May 21, 1931 in Logansport (Butler County) KY., to the late Homer and Elizabeth Mason. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Edward McKee, and her brother Wilson Hill (Wid) Mason. Jean graduated from Butler County High School, in Morgantown, KY. She then took employment in Owensboro, KY and worked for the General Electric/ MPD Corporation, retiring after 42 years.

Joe N. Foster, 78, of Morgantown, KY, passed away Wednesday, October 4, 2017, at Commonwealth Regional Specialty Hospital in Bowling Green, KY. Joe was born May 8, 1939, in Butler Co. KY, to the late Robert and Dorothy Forgy Foster. He was the retired founder and owner of Foster Trucking and a U.S. Army veteran. Other than his parents, Joe is preceded in death by his wife, Edna Greathouse Foster, one grandson, Alex Foster, two brothers, Bill Foster and Bob Foster and one sister, Geneive Foster.
