Jewel C. Hunt, 69, of Morgantown, KY, passed away Wednesday, October 4, 2017, at her daughter's residence in Morgantown, KY. Jewel was born June 30, 1948, in Butler Co. KY, to the late Karl and Amy Hammers Hunt. She was a caregiver and a member of Huntsville Missionary Baptist Church. Other than her parents, Jewel is preceded in death by one son, Christopher Dean Morgan and several brothers and sisters.

Steven Allen Phelps

Steven Allen Phelps, 66, of Morgantown, KY, passed away Monday, October 2, 2017, at his residence. Steven was born March 3, 1951, in Bloomington, IL, to the late Chester C. and Zelmer Cardwell Phelps. Steven retired from Kellwood after 36 years and was a custodian at BCHS for 8 and a half years. He was also a member of Aberdeen Missionary Baptist Church. Other than his parents, Steven is preceded in death by two brothers; Clifton Phelps and Wendell Ross Phelps.

James Calbert Saunders, 57, of Morgantown, KY, went home to be with the lord, Friday, September 29, 2017, at Greenview Regional Hospital in Bowling Green, KY. Jimmy was born December 20, 1959, in ST. Louis, MO to the late Calber Wilson and Vesma Moreen Coots Saunders. Other than his parents, Jimmy is preceded in death by one brother, Tommy Sanders, one sister Sandy Colter, one nephew, Jason Colter and a sister-in-law, Debbie Merrill Saunders.

Loyde C. Hunt "Riverman," 79, of Morgantown, KY, passed away Saturday, September 30, 2017, at his residence. Loyde was born October 12, 1937, in Butler Co., KY to the late Chester and Fosteen Flener Hunt. Loyde worked for the Butler Co. EMS and helped bring the first ambulance to Butler Co. He was the co-founder of the Butler Co. Rescue Squad and a part-time Butler Co. Sheriff's Deputy under Roscoe Howard and Wallace Dockery. He was also a coal miner, a welder at Chrysler and a commercial fisherman and trapper. Loyde was a U.S.

Vivian Ruth Bates went to be with the Lord September 21, 2017. She was born August 10, 1934, in Louisville, Kentucky to James J. and Violet (McFarland) Prather. Vivian resided in Morgantown, Kentucky for many years, then spent her last few years in Okeechobee, Florida. She enjoyed Bingo and listening to music.

Mrs. Bates was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Charlie Bates; son, Raymond Bates; granddaughter, Donna; parents; two brothers; and four sisters.

Pauline was born April 23, 1939, in Butler County, Kentucky to the late McLean "Mac" and Lelia Daugherty Snodgrass and wife of the late Stoy Snodgrass. Pauline was a retired legal secretary for 40 years, member of Morgantown Nazarene Church and attended Belmont General Baptist Church. Other than her parents and husband she is preceded in death by two half-sisters Lowie Kelley and Dewie Ralph.

Gary Lee Curtiss II, 28, of Morgantown, Kentucky passed away Monday September 18, 2017 at the Medical Center in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Gary was born September 7, 1989 in New Port Richey, FL. to Gary Lee and Mary Ann Johnston Curtiss, who survive. He loved watching Shepherds Chapel Church on TV.

Gary Lee Curtiss II is survived by his parents - Gary & Mary Curtiss of Morgantown, Kentucky; one sister Michelle Curtiss of Michigan, and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
