Elizabeth Ann Renfrow Rose

Elizabeth Ann Renfrow Rose, of Bowling Green, 77, died Wednesday at The Medical Center.

She was born in Butler County, Ky., and graduated from Leitchfield High School.

She was a member of Faith United Methodist Church, its United Methodist Women and bgamug computer club. Earlier in her life, she was bookkeeper at Nehi-Royal Crown Bottling and a civilian employee of the Bowling Green Police Department.

Larry Ray Cardwell, 61 of Morgantown, Ky. passed away Thursday October 1, 2015 at the Medical Center in Bowling Green, Ky. Larry was born December 28, 1953 in Butler County Kentucky to Arthur Ray and the late Anna Mae Brooks Cardwell. He was a member of Leonard Oak General Baptist Church.

Jessie Denton Hancock, 79 of  Morgantown, Ky., passed away Friday, October 2, 2015 at the Morgantown Care & Rehab in Morgantown, Ky.   He was born in Monticello, Ky. on September 13, 1936  to William Leonard and Ruby Stinson Hancock.  Jessie was a Farm Mechanic for many years and attended Brooklyn Missionary Baptist Church.  He  loved to fish and hunt.  He was preceded in death by 4 Brothers: William, Clyde, Paul and infant Bobby Hancock; 3 Sisters: Mary Cissell, Susie Quinn and infant Donna Hancock.

Edith Arnold

Edith Henderson Arnold , 88, of  Morgantown, Ky. passed away Thursday, October 1,  2015 at the Medical Center.  Edith was born on Aug. 12, 1927  in Butler County, Ky.  to the late Harvey and Annie Ruth Embry Henderson. She was a member of Barnett's Lick Missionary Baptist Church.  Edith was a homemaker and loved to read, garden and sew.  She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband Leonard Mitchell Sr. and second husband Ward Arnold; one son, Leonard Mitchell Jr. and one daughter Norma Jean Rutledge; four brothers, Chester, Raymond, Leamon and Jessie Henderson.

James "Jim" Childress

James "Jim" Childress, 81 of  Morgantown, Ky., passed away Thursday, October 1, 2015 at the Hospice House, Hospice of Southern Ky., Bowling Green, Ky.   He was born in Butler Co., Ky. on September 16, 1934  to William Murry and Lydia Brown Childress. Jim was a Army Veteran  a  aviation mechanic and a decoder with the military. Mr. Childress  was a retired State worker, Coal miner and a member of the VFW Post#5837.  He was preceded in death by 5 Sisters; Evelyn Wilson, Earlene Childress, Beulah Childress, Polly Nelms, Anna Lou Spangler.

Norman Tanner

Norman Donald Tanner, 77, of  Woodburn, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, September 29, 2015 at his residence.  He was born in Butler Co., Kentucky on January 9, 1938.  He was preceded in death by his father,  James Bradley Tanner, his mom, Effie Laura Orange Tanner and one son, Mickey Robert Tanner.  Mr. Tanner was of the Protestant faith and was an Air Force Veteran.  He retired from Clarks Distributing and also worked at Warwick Electronics in Chicago and Howard W. Sams Publishing in Indianapolis.  He loved all ballgames, playing golf, and living in the country.

Jayden Hawkins

Jayden Alexander Hawkins, 5, of  Morgantown, Ky., passed away Monday, September 28, 2015 in Morgantown, Ky.  He was born in Warren Co., Ky. on August 19, 2010 to Aaron Hawkins and Sylvia Shepherd.  Jayden was in Ms. Otey's  Kindergarten class. He loved Spiderman, Ninja Turtles, Transformers, Peppa Pig, kites, sandboxes and Hot Wheels. Jayden also loved going to McDonalds.  He was preceded in death by his two special uncles Willie and Carlos Webster.

Margie Marie Bratcher

Margie Marie Bratcher, 76, of Caneyville, passed away Friday, September 25th, 2015 at Norton Hospital in Louisville. 

She was born on Friday, July 21st, 1939 in Butler County, the daughter of the late Cooper and Lorene (Clark) Johnson. Margie was a member of the Wilson Home Church. She was a homemaker and seamstress out of her home.

Jerry Neale Nitz Sr.

Jerry Neale Nitz Sr., 63 of Morgantown, Ky. passed away Friday, September 25, 2015 at the Medical Center in Bowling Green, Ky. Jerry was born Thursday November 15, 1951 in Buckhannon, West Virginia to the late Fred and Rosa Browning Nitz. He was a member of Temple View General Baptist Church, Reedyville Masonic Lodge, a Kentucky Organ Donor and was retired from General Motors Corvette Plant. Jerry is preceded in death by his parents, one step son Glen Roberson Jr. and several brothers.

David Griffin Miller, III

David Griffin Miller, III, age 77 of Sowers Place, Lexington passed away Wednesday morning July 29, 2015 at Lexington Medical Center.

A graveside service will be held 11:00 AM Saturday October 3, 2015 at Riverview Cemetery, Morgantown, Ky.  officiated by  Rev. Randy Nielson, under the direction of Smith Funeral Home.
