Kevin L. O'Brien 56 of Albany, Kentucky formerly of Morgantown, Kentucky passed away Sunday, August 20, 2017, at 2:00 pm at the Medical Center in Albany, Kentucky.   Kevin was born September 25, 1960, in Owensboro, Kentucky to the late Richard M. and Lois Faye Childers O'Brien
He recently retired from Clinton County School System & Foothills Academy after teaching special education after 27 years.  He took helping disadvantaged students very seriously.

Kevin enjoyed traveling to Central and South America as well as Ireland.  He looked forward to further travel adventures. Ever the optimist, Kevin was a diehard fan of the University of Kentucky football program.

Kevin leaves behind his brother Pat (Joetta) O'Brien of Owensboro, Ky. and his sister Kathy (Matthew) Hampton of Morgantown, Ky. He will be sorely missed by his nephew Ian O'Brien of Owensboro and nieces Kasey Ward Ray (Bret) of Owensboro and Maika O'Brien of Napa, CA and numerous cousins and extended family.  He also leaves behind special friend Jackie Campos, and he will be especially missed by his k9 companion of 18 years, Tina.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations of gently used clothing and cash to the Morgantown Mission or to the Ridgeview ( Mennonite) Cemetery in The Leonard Oak community.
