Stolen Car Found in Cornfield

On July 13, 2020, Paula Givens reported that her vehicle, a 2006 Silver Mazda, had been stolen from her residence at 3242 Old Big Springs Road.

Mrs. Givens stated that she left her residence around 9:00 am and returned around 10:30 or 11:00 am and her vehicle was gone.

NBES Hires Principal

A second elementary school administrative position has been filled as North Butler Elementary School named Ben Wilson to the position. Out of 18 applicants, the SBDM council scheduled 4 candidates to interview.  One pulled their application before the interview took place.

Magistrates consider changes to recycling center operations; no action taken

Butler County Fiscal Court met in regular session on Monday, July 13, at the Butler County Courthouse. All magistrates were in attendance: Stevie Givens, Kevin Phelps, Timmy Givens, David Whittinghill, and Dillon Bryant.

Morgantown City Council Meets in Called Session

Morgantown City Council met via Zoom on July 9 at 6:00 p.m. in a called meeting. Those council members present were Jason Gaskey, Russell Givens, Sharon Johnson, and Dionne Merritt. Sterling White and Dustin Embry were unable to attend.

Charles "Bubby "Price settling in as new EMS Director

Bubby, Cameron, Cainan, Tonia, Colten, Caitlynn and friend Casey Shavers

Effective July 1, Charles "Bubby" Price started his new job as Butler County EMS Director.  This journey began in 1996 when he became a junior volunteer for the Browning Fire Department in Logan County.  Price grew up in Logan County.  After various jobs in this field, he was hired as a dispatcher for Butler County EMS in 2008.  In 2009 Price started going out on the truck as an EMT.  Many people will remember 2009 as the year of the "ice storm."

School District seeks community input on MES, NBE principal positions

With both elementary principals Josh Belcher (NBE) and Jimmy Felty (MES) accepting positions at Central Office, the search for a new principal begins at both Morgantown Elementary School and North Butler Elementary School.
