Butler County's Kimberlea Embry Receives KY Farm Bureau Career &Technical Education Award

FRANKFORT, KY – Eight Career and Technical Education (CTE) professionals received 2020 CTE Awards at a live-streamed ceremony at the Galt House Hotel in Louisville July 24, 2020. The Kentucky Farm Bureau Federation and Kentucky Farm Bureau Insurance sponsor the annual CTE Awards. The awards program is conducted by the Kentucky Association for Career and Technical Education (KACTE).

MPD: Arrests made in Counterfeit Bills

On Monday, July 27, an Officer with the Morgantown Police Department responded to Scott's Market Gas Station about a counterfeit 100-dollar bill that an individual attempted to use. Later that same day, another call was received from the Marathon Gas Station in referencing two more counterfeit $100 bills used at that business. Through investigation, Jarod Phelps and Kayla Darity were observed on camera using the counterfeit bills at the Marathon Gas Station. Warrants were issued for their arrest through the County Attorney’s office.

Three Juveniles have been identified in City Park vandalism

On August 7, at approximately 6:00 pm, the Morgantown Police opened an investigation of the property damage at the city park's upper bathrooms. Thru the investigation, three juveniles have been identified, and farther actions will be taken.

MPD Drug Arrests

On August 9, at approximately 1:10 A.M., the Morgantown Police, while on routine patrol, received a call about a male causing a disturbance at Oak Hill A building outside. Thru investigation, the subject Chad Whitson, age 50 of Bowling Green, KY, and Natasha Woosley, age 37 of Morgantown, KY, were both found to be in possession of methamphetamine.

Dollar General to Build Cold Storage & Distribution Center in Bowling Green, Kentucky

Dollar General has chosen Bowling Green, Kentucky, for the site of a new cold storage and distribution center. The company is investing $26 million in the approximately 160,000 square foot facility. That is expected to create 65 new jobs when fully operational.

Missouri Man Arrested After a Three County Pursuit Ending in Bowling Green

A high-speed chase on Monday made its way through a portion of Butler County on Monday.  Sgt. Dewel Miller of the Kentucky State Police Commercial Enforcement West Region, observed a 2020 blue Kia Optima traveling 114 miles per hour at approximately 8:06 a.m. in Ohio County.
