Important Information for Parents/Guardians of BC Students

With parents and guardians wondering what the upcoming school year will look like, amid Covid-19 concerns, two avenues for gaining information have recently become available. First off, Butler County Schools has released their Reopening Playbook for the 2020-2021 school year. Initial information indicates that school will begin for all students on August 26th. Families will have two options at each grade level to begin the upcoming school year. Each parent will select for their child(ren) to be enrolled through in-person or online instruction.  In-person students will follow a set of guidelines that include social distancing and masks for grades 1-12th. Masks will be optional for children younger than first grade.  Planned mask breaks will be scheduled when social distancing can be ensured. For detailed information to help guide your selection of learning format for the start of the upcoming school year, visit the BCS Reopening Site at BCS Reopening Playbook. There you will find links to choose in-person or online learning. You can also find these links below.

A second source of information will be the BC Schools Reopening Q and A, with BC Schools Superintendent Robert Tuck and Assistant Superintendent Josh Belcher, on Tuesday, July 21 at 6:00pm during a livestream on the Beech Tree News Facebook Page at Beech Tree News via Facebook.

Assistant Superintendent Belcher indicates that creating plans for reopening have been a community effort. “I speak for the Butler County Board of Education members, Program Directors, Principals and Superintendent Robert Tuck when I say thank you to all of you for your valuable feedback over the past month.  A special thank you goes out to the COVID 19 Reopening Task Force for their diligent work in creating the plan for the upcoming school year.”

He adds, “If you have questions please contact your school or central office and we will help you to the best of our abilities. We miss you and we look forward to accomplishing this challenge together!”
