It took two meetings and a little drama but in the end an $84,548 Kentucky Pride grant for the Butler County Recycling Center was turned down by magistrates on a 3-2 vote.

Over the past months, the COVID-19 pandemic has affected many aspects of our lives, including our finances. Some have lost jobs or have had hours reduced. Others have seen changes in expenses with some payments increasing while others have decreased. The pandemic has even changed some of our attitudes about money.

A midday Monday collision on Beaver Dam Road (U.S. 231, about 5 miles north of Morgantown) has resulted in the death of 16-year-old Nevaeh Woosley.    

Lloyd Saylor , 4-H Youth Development Agent, commented that the University of Kentucky provides the still-developing information for 4-H programs and they also follow the National 4-H Shooting Committee guidelines. The majority of 4-H programs are online now but you can't shoot a rifle or bow and get instruction online or with a Zoom meeting.

The Butler County School District has two fewer principals with the recent filling of positions at Central Office.  Josh Belcher and Jimmy Felty were hired last week for district-wide positions.
