NBES Hires Principal

A second elementary school administrative position has been filled as North Butler Elementary School named Ben Wilson to the position. Out of 18 applicants, the SBDM council scheduled 4 candidates to interview.  One pulled their application before the interview took place. Based on the criteria established by the council, with significant input from stakeholders and following their identified process, the council, along with Superintendent Robert Tuck, interviewed three “very strong candidates all with exceptional qualities,” according to Tuck. 


In the end, Mr. Wilson, a lifelong resident of Butler County, was offered and accepted the position.  Wilson graduated from Butler County High School in 2002. He received his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees at Western Kentucky University in the field of Physical Education. He completed his Rank 1 in Administration at the University of the Cumberlands in August of 2019. 

 

Mr. Wilson has taught Physical Education for 12 years with one of those years also serving as Assistant Principal of North Butler Elementary. His experience includes five years at Custer Elementary, Irvington Elementary, and Ben Johnson Elementary in Breckinridge County as an itinerant Physical Education teacher, 5 years at Alvaton Elementary in Warren County, and the last two years at North Butler Elementary.
