Loyde C. Hunt

Loyde C. Hunt "Riverman," 79, of Morgantown, KY, passed away Saturday, September 30, 2017, at his residence. Loyde was born October 12, 1937, in Butler Co., KY to the late Chester and Fosteen Flener Hunt. Loyde worked for the Butler Co. EMS and helped bring the first ambulance to Butler Co. He was the co-founder of the Butler Co. Rescue Squad and a part-time Butler Co. Sheriff's Deputy under Roscoe Howard and Wallace Dockery. He was also a coal miner, a welder at Chrysler and a commercial fisherman and trapper. Loyde was a U.S. Army veteran, a lifetime member of the VFW and a Member of Chapel Union Missionary Baptist Church. Other than his parents Loyde is preceded by one grandson, Craig Allen Hunt, one brother, David Arthur Hunt and two sisters, Frances Henderson and Brenda Jones.
Loyde C. Hunt is survived by his wife of 57 years, Glenita Embry Hunt, of Morgantown, KY, four sons; Garrie Bratcher, of Morgantown, KY, Randy Bratcher, of Morgantown, KY, Terry Hunt (Fiance Kelly Tyree) of Morgantown, KY and Tony Hunt (Dieana) of Morgantown, KY, seven grandchildren; Brittany Perrin (Anthony), Derrick Hunt (Marybeth), Brandon Bratcher(Trista), Stephen Bratcher (Alisha), Lane Bratcher (Maria), Loni Brian (John) and Melicha Hess, 18 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild, two brothers; J.B. Hunt (Fran), of Auburn, KY and Gary Bennett Hunt (Shirley), of Morgantown, KY and two sisters; Joyce Phelps, of Caneyville, KY and Jonell Batchler of GA, and Several Nieces and Nephews.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 3, 2017, at 2:00 PM at the Jones Funeral Chapel with Bro. Darryl Dockery officiating.

Burial will be in the Morgan Smith Cemetery where military rites will be conducted by the AM VETS Post 117 Honor Guard.

Visitation will be held  Monday, October 2, 2017, from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM and Tuesday, October 3, 2017, from 8:00 AM until funeral time at 2:00 PM at the Jones Funeral Chapel.
