Flora Mae Whittaker

Flora Mae Whittaker, 71 of Morgantown, Ky. passed away Sunday, March 13, 2016, at her daughter's residence in Morgantown, Ky. Flora Mae was born on Wednesday, May 10, 1944, in Huntington West Virginia to the late Elmer and Sarah Billups Davis. She attended Cool Springs General Baptist Church and a member of Friendship Baptist Church. Other than her parents she is preceded in death by one daughter Jewell Rebecca Whittaker and three sisters Judy Davis, Susie Davis and JoAnn Hamblin.

Robert "Wimpy" Toms

Robert L. “Wimpy” Toms, age 85 of Park City, KY, passed away on Saturday, March 12, 2016 at his residence. He was born on April 21, 1930 in Park City. He was married to the late Marjorie Dean Salley Toms for 65 years. He joined in Heaven his mother, Letha Coffee Toms; father, Barney Toms; wife, Marjorie Toms; precious daughter, Beverly Jean Gillon; several brothers and sisters.

Shirley M. Searles

Shirley M. Searles, age 78, of Rosiclare, IL passed away March 9, 2016 at Rosiclare Rehabilitation and Health Care.

Shirley was born in Lauderdale County, Tennessee on October 13, 1937 to Isaac and Lillie (Reynolds) Wiseman. She married Kenneth Searles on December 6, 1952. Shirley was a member of Antioch Baptist Church in Rosebud. She was retired from Red Kap industries. She enjoyed traveling and cooking.

Billie Jean Elmore

Billie Jean Elmore, 87, of Owensboro died Sunday, March 6, 2016 at her home. She was born September 28, 1928 in Augusta, Indiana. Mrs. Elmore was a wonderful homemaker and loving mother that enjoyed bowling, reading and crossword puzzles. She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Denzil D. Elmore on August 14, 2009; parents, Hurley Richardson and Matilda Norrick Richardson; two brothers, Charles and Oral Glen Richardson; one sister, Mildred Hurst Eaton and one daughter, Peggy Lynn Elmore Brown.

Raymon C. Havens

Raymon C. Havens, 75, of Hartford passed away Sunday March 6, 2016. He was born November 25, 1940 in Butler County, Kentucky to the late Willie Havens and Freda Pierce Havens. Mr. Havens was Vice-president for Scott Contractors and a member of Bells Run Baptist Church in Whitesville, Kentucky. He was also a member of Banock Masonic Lodge #824 F&AM. Mr. Havens was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Kenneth Ray Havens.

Morris Eugene Fishburn

Morris Eugene Fishburn, 70, of  Bowling Green, Ky., passed away Friday, February 26, 2016, at the Commonwealth Regional Specialty Hospital.  He was born in Butler Co., Ky. on Jan. 10, 1946 to the late Roy and Jean Neighbors Fishburn.   He was a truck driver, a member of Masonic Lodge # 272 and liked to do mechanic work.  He was preceded in death by his parents.

Geneva Tomlinson

Geneva Tomlinson, 95, of Caneyville, passed away Friday, February 26th, 2016 at U of L Hospital. 

She was born on Sunday, September 26th, 1920 in Grayson County, the daughter of the late Owen and Pallie (Gross) Wilson. She was a member of the Caney Creek Baptist Church. Geneva first worked at Mingles in Louisville. She worked for General Electric for over 25 years and retired from them in 1980. After retiring, she raised cattle and loved all of her animals.

Linda Kaye Blaine Gaither

Linda Kaye Blaine Gaither, 65 of  Blanchester, Oh., passed away Wednesday, February 24, 2016, at her residence.  She was born in Morgantown, Ky. on March 23, 1950, to Cleburne and Susie Mae McPherson Blaine.  Ms. Gaither was a CMA,  member of  Centertown Holiness Church.  She loved to crochet, make quilts and sing gospel music. She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Rena Flener, sisters Brenda Lou Leonard, Carolyn Wendle and brother Joseph Steve Blaine.

Carrie Blewett Charlton

Mrs. Carrie Blewett Charlton, 72, of Franklin, died Feb. 22, 2016, at The Medical Center at Bowling Green.

Funeral is at noon Saturday at Crafton Funeral Home, with burial in Woodburn Cemetery.

A native of Logan County, she was the daughter of the late Chester Blewett and Matilda Lowe Blewett. She was a homemaker and a member of Salmon’s General Baptist Church but regularly attended Woodburn Baptist Church. Mrs. Charlton was preceded in death by her son, Neil Walton.

Willodean Eaves "Dean" Givens

Willodean Eaves "Dean" Givens, 81 of Morgantown, Ky. passed away Sunday, February 21, 2016, at the Medical Center in Bowling Green, Ky.  Dean was born on Wednesday, December 26, 1934, in Muhlenberg County Kentucky to the late Leslie and Flora Griffin Eaves and wife of the late Harlin W. Givens. She was a homemaker and other than her parents and  husband she is preceded in death by one son Gerald Ray Howton, great granddaughter Aleigh Howton, one brother Willard Eaves and two sisters Rean Eaves and Edna Thompson.
