Charles Lee Neely

Charles Lee Neely, 92, of Morgantown, Kentucky passed away January 25, 2016 at the Joseph E. "Eddie" Ballard VA Center in Hanson, Kentucky, where he had resided since June 2013. Mr. Neely was born on Monday, April 4, 1923 in Butler County, Kentucky to Frank G. and Ella Lee Neely. He was preceded in death by his wife, Loyce Porter Neely, on February 26, 2005. Mr. Neely was a WWII Navy Veteran assigned to the USS Birmingham. He was a farmer, former Postmaster and a 30-year Director of Morgantown Bank and Trust.

Larry Shelburn Mudd

Larry Shelburn Mudd, age 69, of Leitchfield, KY, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, (January 25, 2016) at his home.

He was born on November 27, 1946 in Louisville, KY, the son of the late Lester and Bertha Mae Richardson Mudd.

He was a retired piano tuner and technician; and he worked for Brown and Williamson Tobacco Company for 23 years. Larry’s music was his life; he founded and retired the Veterans Quartet. He had attended the Providence Baptist Church at Brooks, KY, and was a current member of the Liberty Baptist Church.

Sue Helen Gill

Sue Helen Gill, 71, of Morgantown, Kentucly passed away Monday, January 25, 2016 at the Commonwealth Regional Specialty Hospital in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Sue was born on Monday, July 17, 1944 in Butler County, Kentucky to the late Wilford and Vernie Hoops Smith and she was the wife of the late Dale Gill. Gill was a member of Bethel Missionary Baptist Church and was retired from Kanes and Kellwood factories. Other than her parents and  husband, she is preceded in death by two sisters: Clarice Roberts and Beulah Smith; and three brothers: James Smith, Fred Flemings, and Carl Beliles.

Sandra R. Lindsey, 60 of Morgantown, Ky. passed away Thursday, January 21, 2016 at her residence. Sandra was born on Friday, May 27, 1955 in Grayson County Kentucky, to the late Daymond and Crystal Embry Woodcock. She was a member of the Roundhill Church of Christ and a retired hairdresser. She is preceded in death by one daughter Rachel Nicole Lindsey, one brother Ronnie Woodcock and two sisters Anita Shepherd and Junita Woodcock.

Herman D. Mayhugh, 81 of Smiths Grove, Ky. formerly of Morgantown Ky., passed away Friday, January 22, 2016 at the Hospice of Southern Ky. Hospice House in Bowling Green, Ky. Herman was born on Sunday, February 18, 1934 in Butler County Kentucky to the late Friday and Florence Porter Mayhugh. He was a member of Union Missionary Baptist Church, A United States Navy Veteran and a retired Diesel Mechanic. He also loved spending time with his family and friends.

Dorothy K. Cox Pendley, 88 of Morgantown, Ky. passed away Saturday January 23, 2016 at the Medical Center in Bowling Green, Ky. Dorothy was born December 6, 1927 in Butler County Kentucky to the late Luchen Tessley Keown and Mable Hawks Keown and wife of the late Charles Edward Cox. Other than her parents and husband she is preceded in death by one son Robert Tessley Cox, one granddaughter Veronica Ann "Bonnie" Rothwell, one grandson Robert Thomas "Robbie" Cox, two sisters Lois Bratcher and Glennadel Keown and one brother James Elwood Keown.

Carolyn Sue "Mama Carolyn" Flener

Carolyn Sue "Mama Carolyn" Flener, 77, of  Morgantown, Ky., passed away Friday, January 22, 2016 at her residence.  She was born in Butler Co., Ky. on Feb. 18, 1938 to the late Alva and Ava Burden Johnson.  Mrs. Flener was a member of Richland Baptist Church, an avid UK fan, who loved children and retired from childcare after 30 years.  She loved her family and especially her grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents; 2 sisters, Golda McCloskey and Kathryn Smith; 1 brother, JR Johnson and infant sister Margaret D Johnson.

Myrtle Peay Givens, 89, of  Huntsville, Ky., passed away Thursday, January 21, 2016 at the Morgantown Care and Rehab Center.  She was born in Rochester, Ky. on May 8, 1926 to the late Ervin and Opaline Hammers Peay.  Mrs. Givens was a member of Rochester Missionary Baptist Church and a Janitorist at Peabody Coal.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wilma Givens; grandson, Bradley Ferrell; son, Willie Ray Givens.  Siblings, George, Will, Ruben, Henry C., Paul, Chester & Glenn Peay.  Lucy Peay, Pauline Smith & Jewel Neese.

Georgia Ann Sams, 85 of Morgantown, Ky. passed away Wednesday, January 20, 2016 at the Morgantown Care & Rehab. Georgia was born on Saturday, July 19, 1930 in Butler County Kentucky to the late Harlin Patterson Hunt and Gustie Earl Duke Hunt. She was a member of Aberdeen Missionary Baptist Church and was retired from Holley Carburetors. Other than her parents she is preceded in death by one son Dewayne Johnson, one sister Carrie McKinney and two brothers Luther and Vincent Hunt.

Grace Maxine Givens

Grace Maxine Givens, age 82, of Benton, KY, died Tuesday, January 19, 2016, at Marshall Co. Hospital in Benton, KY. Mrs. Givens was retired from Fisher Price Toys and was a member of Ferguson Spring Baptist Church.

She was the daughter of the late Roe Deweese and the late Asbury (Hampton) Deweese. She was also preceded in death by one brother: Lindol Deweese; and three sisters: Treva Henninger Cooper, Virginia Bratcher, and Bernice Deweese.
