Walton Vaughn

Walton Vaughn was born April 5, 1935, in the Huntsville Community of Butler County, Kentucky, to the late Osborn J. and Doxie Ferrell Vaughn. After a courageous struggle against cancer he passed away peacefully in his sleep on December 23, 2015, under the care of Gentiva Hospice at Manor Care of Palm Desert, CA, very soon after being transferred there from Eisenhower Medical Center in Rancho Mirage, CA.

Evelyn Francis Bolton Heltsley, 92 of Beaver Dam passed away Friday, January 15, 2016. She was born September 1, 1923 in Louisville to the late Dewey and Helen Burger Bolton.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, David Lamar Heltsley from Rockport, KY and her granddaughter, Michelle Renee’ Arbuckle.

George Junior Combs, 88 of Glasgow formerly of Morgantown, Ky. passed away Thursday January 14, 2016 at the Glasgow State Nursing Facility in Glasgow Kentucky. George was born October 24,1927 in Butler County Kentucky to the late Edgar and Vevia A. Parsley Combs. Other than his parents he is preceded in death by one son, three sisters Nellie Jean Becker, Patricia Kisthardt and Callie Schweitzer and three brothers Earl, Carl and Irvin Combs.

Geneva Gray Henning, 60 of  Owensboro, Ky., passed away Thursday, January 14, 2016 at the Heartford House in Owensboro.  She was born in Hamilton, Ohio on September 22, 1955 to the late John and Mildred Walley Gray.  Mrs. Henning was a homemaker and a member of Wesleyan Christian Center. Geneva loved being on her computer, playing games and watching television.

Susan "Susie" Morris Lindsey

Susan "Susie" Morris Lindsey, 37, of  Morgantown,  passed away Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at the Medical Center Hospital,. She was born in Owensboro, Ky. on May 26,1978 to Richard Lee and Aretha Pierce Morris.   She was a production worker at LifeSkills  and  a member of New Liberty Baptist Church.  She loved to color, do word search games, write in her journal, watch television, and loved listening to country music.  She was preceded in death by her grandparents Franklin Morris Sr. and Gydlene Hoover Morris, John and Betty Girten.

Durman Foster Ferguson

Durman Foster Ferguson, 90, of Millwood, passed away Monday, January 11th, 2016 at Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center. 

He was born on Monday, June 1st, 1925 in Horse Branch, the son of the late Herbert and Tula (Evans) Ferguson. Durman had several accomplishment during his lifetime, a U.S. Army veteran where he received a Purple Heart.  He was a member of the Antioch Church of Christ.  He retired from Leggett and Platt, he also worked from his home a locksmith, welder, and beekeeper.

Shirley Jean Embry

Shirley Jean Embry, 69 of Beaver Dam passed away Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at her home. She was born July 8, 1946 in Calhoun to the late William Henry and Lannie Crabtree Evans. She was a member of Longview General Baptist Church and was a homemaker.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Embry and her brother, William Henry Evans Jr.

Debbie Mahurin

Debbie Mahurin, 54, of Caneyville, passed away Sunday, January 10th, 2016 at Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center. 

She was born on Monday, January 1, 1962 in Grayson County, the daughter of the late J.C. and Kathleen (Hayes) Embry. Debbie was a member of the Wilson Home General Baptist church.  Her greatest enjoyment was spending time with her family and loving on her grandchildren.

James “Bubby” Kiper

James “Bubby” Kiper, 68, of Louisville, passed away January 10, 2016 at his daughter’s home in Louisville. 

He was born on April 18, 1947 in Grayson County, the son of the late James Lucian and Elsie (Dennis) Kiper. He was a member of the Lynn Creek Primitive Baptist Church in Louisville. James was employed for over 20 years at the Louisville Varnish Company as a Lab Tech.

Mavie Duain Tarrence Maden

Mavie Duain Tarrence Maden, 96, passed away Friday, Jan. 8, 2016, at her home. She was born in Morgantown, Ky , Aug. 13, 1919, daughter of the late Christopher Columbus and Julie Ann Colburn Tarrence. Mavie was a homemaker, retired from Thomas Industries and a member of Hartford Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband Everett Maden in 1992, brothers Willard Ralph and Galaspie Dean Tarrence, sisters Ruby Louise Tarrence Mitchell and Mary Ann Tarrence Shepard. Survivors include her son F.B.
