LEITCHFIELD - Visiting Butler County fell short in a bid to notch a win as Grayson County prevailed 46-37 in a 12th District girls' basketball game on Friday night.

A Tennessee woman had the catch of a lifetime last weekend when she hauled in an 88-pound catfish on the Tennessee side of Kentucky Lake.

MURRAY - The Butler County Lady Bears dropped a pair of games in the Murray Bank Hardwood Tournament, falling to host 1st Region members Calloway County and Paducah Tilghman. 

Tournament host Calloway County pulled away to beat Butler County 60-27 on Friday night (Dec. 28). 

In a much closer contest, Paducah Tilghman held on to edge the Lady Bears 55-52 on Saturday (Dec. 29).

MORGANTOWN - Boys' high school basketball fans won't have to go far to catch a holiday hoops event. Butler County High School is set to host the Limestone Bank Christmas Classic Thursday-Friday.

MORGANTOWN - The Butler County Bears are on a three-game winning streak. Butler County posted back-to-back wins Friday-Saturday, beating 12th District boys' basketball rival Edmonson County and Walden.

BOWLING GREEN - Butler County returned to the win column on the road on Tuesday night, defeating host Warren Central 60-47 in an early-season girls' high school basketball game.

The Lady Bears, under the direction of head coach Lexie Belcher, gradually pulled away for the win over Warren Central, an opponent from the neighboring 4th Region.
