MORGANTOWN - Butler County returned to the win column on Tuesday night, defeating visiting 3rd Region rival Apollo 61-56 in a non-district boys' high school basketball game.

With the win, Butler County improved to 2-3.

Apollo, the reigning 3rd Region champion, dropped to 1-7 with the loss. 

The Butler County Cross Country Team held its annual banquet on Sunday, December 2nd to celebrate a successful season.

BOWLING GREEN - Western Kentucky University linebacker Rex Henderson, a Butler County High School graduate, has been named to the Conference USA All-Freshman Team.

WHITESVILLE - Butler County faced a single digit deficit at the conclusion of each quarter and couldn't battle back to win as host Whitesville Trinity prevailed 54-44 in a 12th District boys' basketball game on Friday night. 

With the setback, Butler County dropped to 1-3 overall and 0-1 in the 12th District.

WHITESVILLE - Visiting Butler County was unable to work its way back into the win column and halt a losing skid on the road on Friday night. Instead, Whitesville Trinity pulled away to beat the Lady Bears 60-51 in a 12th District girls' basketball game. 

With the loss, Butler County dropped to 1-3 overall and 0-1 in the 12th District.

FRANKFORT, Ky. (Dec. 7, 2018) — New public land deer hunting regulations highlighted the quarterly meeting of the Kentucky Fish and Wildlife Commission Friday, Dec. 7.

The commission recommends all hunting, fishing and boating regulations to the Kentucky General Assembly for approval. The Legislature must approve regulation recommendations before they become law.

MORGANTOWN - The 2018-19 boys' high school basketball season will tip off locally as Butler County hosts Metcalfe County in a non-district matchup on Monday.

Butler County, under the direction of head coach Calvin Dockery, concluded the 2017-18 season 11-14. Grayson County eliminated Butler County from the 2018 12th District Boys' Basketball Tournament, outlasting the Bears 47-43 in the quarterfinals.
