Butler County to visit Grayson County for district doubleheader

MORGANTOWN - The Butler County Lady Bears and Bears are slated to visit Grayson County for a 12th District basketball doubleheader on Friday night. 
More on each upcoming 12th District basketball game follows. 
Girls: Butler County will be looking to halt an eigt-game losing skid on the road at Grayson County in a 12th District girls' basketball game on Friday night. The Lady Bears haven't played since nearly knocking off Paducah Tilghman in the Murray Bank Hardwood Tournament on Saturday. 
Girls:Butler County is 2-11 overall and 0-2 in the 12th District. Under the direction of head coach Lexie Belcher, Butler County has notched non-district wins over Hancock County and Warren Central. Butler County has dropped non-district games to Hancock County, Russellville, Muhlenberg County, Hart County, McLean County, University Heights, Northwest (Tenn,), Calloway County and Paducah Tilghman while slipping in district games versus Whitesville Trinity and Edmonson County.
Jaelyn Taylor, Jacie Ward and Maddie Cardwell are currently combining to lead the Lady Bears. 
Grayson County is 6-6 overall and 1-0 in the 12th District. Under the guidance of head coach Josh Basham, Grayson County has notched wins over Warren Central, Meade County, district rival Edmonson County, Green County, Franklin-Simpson and Hopkins County Central. The Lady Storm have dropped games to Murray, McLean County, Breckinridge County, Greenwood, Madisonville-North Hopkins and Muhlenberg County.
Kenzie Renfrow (12.2 ppg) and Rachael Snyder (10.4 ppg) combine to lead the Lady Cougars. 
Tip-off for the Butler County-Grayson County girls' basketball game is set for 6 p.m.
Boys: Butler County will take a two-game winning streak into Grayson County for a 12th District boys' basketball game on Friday night. The Bears claimed back-to-back wins during the final week of 2018.
Butler County is 8-5 overall and 1-1 in the 12th District. Under the direction of head coach Calvin Dockery, Butler County has claimed wins over Lyon County, Apollo, district rival Edmonson County, Walden, Evangel Christian, Fulton City, Portland Christian and St. Francis. The Bears have dropped games to Metcalfe County, Glasgow, district foe Whitesville Trinity, Lyon County and Caldwell County. 
Through 13 games, Parker Rice is averaging 19.6 points and 8.2 rebounds per game for the Bears. But Rice isn't alone. Jaden Hurts is averaging 15.8 points and 5.8 rebounds for game for the Bears.
Grayson County is 4-10 overall and 0-1 in the district. Under the direction of head coach Travis Johnston, Grayson County has posted wins over Apollo, Fairdale, Metcalfe County and Green County. The Cougars have dropped games to Muhlenberg County, Owensboro Catholic, district opponent Edmonson County, Elizabethtown, Central Hardin, Breckinridge County, Green County, Greenwood, Washington County and Campbellsville. 
Q'Daryius McHenry (14.0 ppg), Spencer Sharp (12.4 ppg) and Nolan Shartzer (12.8 ppg) lead the Cougars.
