BCHS set to host Limestone Bank Christmas Classic

MORGANTOWN - Boys' high school basketball fans won't have to go far to catch a holiday hoops event. Butler County High School is set to host the Limestone Bank Christmas Classic Thursday-Friday.

A quarter of the state is represented in the Limestone Bank Christmas Classic. The field for the Limestone Bank Christmas Classic features boys' high school basketball teams from the First, Second, Third and Fourth regions. In addition to host Butler County (5-3), boys' high school basketball teams slated to compete in the Limestone Bank Christmas Classic are Hopkins County Central (3-4), Logan County (6-5), Fulton City (2-6), Lyon County (6-5), Caldwell County (5-2), Franklin-Simpson (3-4) and Webster County (7-2).

Host Butler County will be the busiest team on the opening day of the Limestone Bank Christmas Classic. The Bears are poised to battle Fulton City and Lyon County in back-to-back games of the holiday event on Thursday. 

The host team is carrying a lengthy winning streak into the holiday event. Butler County, under the direction of head coach Calvin Dockery, has won four straight games. The Bears' current winning streak consists of victories over Apollo, Edmonson County, Walden and Evangel Christian. 

All games in the Limestone Bank Christmas Classic will be played at Butler County High School.

Friday, Dec. 21 

11:30 a.m. - Hopkins County Central vs. Franklin-Simpson

1:15 p.m. - Webster County vs. Logan County

3 p.m. - Franklin-Simpson vs. Caldwell County 

4:45 p.m. - Fulton City vs. Lyon County

6:15 p.m. - Caldwell County vs. Butler County
