Butler County Bassmasters held their third tournament of the year at Barren River Lake in Lucas, KY on Saturday, April 27th.  Barren River Lake is one of the top producing lakes in the entire state, recently listed as one of the top 100 bass lakes in the country.  But with the recent heavy rains, the lake was 14 ft. above summer pool, putting a serious damper on the fish.  Daniel Cardwell and Nathan Neighbors took 1st place with 11.27 lbs, 2nd Garrett Leach and Jimmy Leach 9.86 lbs., 3rd Travis Warren and Chad Morris 6.95 lbs.

The Butler County High School Bears recently held their alumni night. 

In an effort to continue the national emphasis and the KHSAA’s own efforts to de-emphasize sports specialization in the athletic culture, the Association launched the “Triple Threat Award” program in May of 2018 to recognize those students who participate in high school athletics year round.

The award, which is given to student-athletes who participate in a KHSAA sport or sport-activity on the varsity level during each season of the academic year (fall/winter/spring), will be presented to a total of 1,814 student-athletes for 2017-18.

The Butler County High School Tennis team honored their seven seniors on Tuesday night at the Charles T. Black City Park.

 Butler County Bassmasters held their second tournament of the year at Lake Beshear in Dawson Springs, KY on Saturday, April 13th.  Lake Beshear is one of the top producing lakes in the entire state, especially for trophy sized largemouth and Saturday was no exception.  With the big females moving toward spawning areas, eight 5+lb fish went across the scales. 19 boats participated in the tournament with Daniel Cardwell and Nathan Neighbors taking 1st place with 20.71 lbs,

BCHS 2  Barren 9

Butler County Bears Varsity fell behind early and couldn't come back in a 9-2 loss to Barren County. Barren County scored on a double by Combs in the first inning and a error during Hyatt's at bat in the second inning.
The Bears Varsity struggled to contain the high-powered offense of Barren County, giving up nine runs.
Warren Cameron took the loss for Butler County. He surrendered six runs on three hits over two innings, striking out three.

The 2019 Bear Run was held Saturday, April 13. A great crowd turned out to support.

Proctor's Walk-off Picture Perfect Ending In Butler County Bears Varsity's Victory Over Calloway County
Butler County defeated Calloway County 8-7 on Saturday thanks to a walk-off home run. The game was tied at seven with the Bears  batting in the bottom of the sixth when Autumn Proctor hit a solo homer.

The 2019 high school softball season is underway in Kentucky and the Butler County Bears have played nine games so far, sporting a 6-3 record.
