Marilyn Phelps Cardwell

Marilyn Phelps Cardwell, 71 of Morgantown, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at the Medical Center in Bowling Green, Ky. Marilyn was born May 24, 1942 in Butler County to the late Nevel Phelps and Reva Embry Jones. She was baptized into the church of Christ in 1954 and a member of the Morgantown Church of Christ and a retired sewing factory worker and devoted house wife, mother and grandmother.

Donald Ray Fields

Donald Ray Fields,72 of Morgantown, Ky. passed away Tuesday December 31, 2013 at his residence. Donald was born July 28,1941 in Butler County, Ky. to the late Charlie and Susie Johnson Fields. He attended Cavehill Church and Leonard Oak General Baptist Church and was a retired coal miner. He was preceded in death by one brother Carl Fields.

Edith M. Goff

 Edith M. Goff, age 75, formally of Caneyville, passed away Monday, December 30th, 2013 at her daughter’s home in Shepherdsville, KY. 

She was born on July 25th, 1938 in Grayson County, the daughter of the late Roma and Loretta (Pharris) Keown. Edith retired from General Electric in Louisville after 25 years.

Linda Ellen Warren, 53 of Horse Branch, Kentucky, passed away at her residence on Wednesday, December 25, 2013. Mrs. Warren was born July 29, 1960  in Buffalo, New York to William Edwin Warren and Margaret Wiese Warren. Linda attended New Zion Missionary Baptist Church and owned a restaurant.  Linda was preceded in death by one sister Laura Price.

Archie "AC" Phelps

Archie "AC" Phelps, 64 of Morgantown, Kentucky, passed away on Thursday, December 26,2013 at the Morgantown Care and Rehab Center. AC was born November 18,1949 in Warren County, Ky., to the Late Archie C. and Irene Deweese Phelps who survives. He was preceeded in death by 3 sisters Sue Waddle, Janice Lundy and Shirley Belcher. He was a member of Morgantown Community Church and was retired owner of the Farmboy restaurant.

Melissa "Missy" Hudnall Embry

Melissa "Missy" Hudnall Embry, 47, of Morgantown Kentucky, passed away on Saturday, December 21, 2013 at her residence. Missy was born December 9, 1966 in Logan County Ky. to the late Larry Hudnall and Linda Ashby Grubb who survives. She was a 1984 graduate of Butler County High School. She is preceeded in death by her grandparents Paul and Elsie Ashby and Harry and Zora Hudnall and one uncle Thomas C. Hudnall.

Patti Jean Matteson, 60 of Morgantown, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, December 18, 2013 at the Medical Center in Bowling Green, Ky. Patti was born January 21, 1953 in Salamanca, New York to the late Lloyd and Pearl Iva Moore Matteson. She was preceded in death by one sister Charlotte Runyon.

Faye Brown Watson

Faye Brown Watson, 78, of Bowling Green, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, December 18, 2013 at her daughter's residence in Owensboro. Ms. Watson was born February 2, 1935 in Butler County  to the late Boyce and Kathleen Jones Brown.  She retired from the Kentucky Department of Transportation where she worked as a toll booth attendant at the Bowling Green exit and a member of Providence Knob Baptist Church in Bowling Green.She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Victor L. Watson; one step son Lee Watson and one brother in- law Doc Vinson.

Miles Hendrick

A memorial service will be held for Miles Hendrick of Morgantown on Saturday, December 21, 2013 at the Catholic Church at 12 noon.  Miles was a 2009 graduate of Butler County High School.  He was killed in a home invasion July 21, 2013 while visiting friends friends in Clarksville, TN. He will be laid to rest in Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.

Glodine Forsythe

Glodine Forsythe age 83 of Morgantown, Kentucky, passed away on Saturday, December 14, 2013 at The Medical Center in Bowling Green, Ky. Glodine was Born March 14, 1930 in Butler County to the late Lonzo and Lilly Childers Burden and was a seamstress for Kellwood Co. and many others. She was preceeded in death by her husband E.W. Betheel,  son Richard Thomas Flener,  sister Roxie Whittinghill, and 4 brothers Elige, Alfred, Ralph, and Frank Burden.
