William "Bud" Phelps

William "Bud" Phelps, 72, of  Morgantown, Kentucky, passed away Friday, December 18, 2015 in Bowling Green, Kentucky at the Greenview Regional Hospital.  He was born in Ohio Co., Kentucky on May 5, 1943 to the late Gobel Phelps and Bulah Garner Phelps.   He was a member of Pleasant Rock Full Gospel Church. Bud volunteered at Head Start in Butler County and was voted "Volunteer of the Year."  He worked for over 30 years as a Sawyer and spent the remainder of his time loving his grandbabies and playing the Wii.   He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Janice Sue Blanchard Phelps, daughter-in-law Shannon Phelps, brothers James and Billy Phelps; and one sister - Butress Embry.

Bud is survived by three children, including two sons - Randy Dewayne Phelps and Tony Lee Phelps, both of Morgantown, Kentucky;  one daughter - Tammy Sue Phelps Suggs of Morgantown, Kentucky;  seven grandchildren - Cindy Cardwell, Jason, Austin, Zachary & Jacob Phelps, and Lillian and Hannah Suggs, all of Morgantown, Kentucky;  three great grandchildren - Geneva, Nehemiah and Zebekiah Cardwell, all of Morgantown, Kentucky;  two brothers - Bobby Phelps and wife Virginia of Henderson, Kentucky;  Glen Phelps and wife Stephanie of Princeton, Indiana;  two sisters - Mary White and husband Dale of Morgantown, Kentucky;  and Judy Brooks of Morgantown, Kentucky.

Funeral service will be held at Pleasant Rock Full Gospel Church on Tuesday, December 22, 2015 at 1 p.m. with Bro. Larry Clark officiating.  Burial will follow in the Walnut Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, December 21st at Smith Funeral Home from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 10 a.m. until time of service at 1 p.m. at the Pleasant Rock Full Gospel Church.  Online condolences may be made at: www.smithfuneralhomeonline.com.
