Lyman D. “L.D.”  Moore, 89, of Owensboro, passed away Monday, February 10, 2014 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital.  He was born in Butler County, Kentucky to the late Lonnie and Minnie Moore.

Sharon Kay Sapp

Sharon Kay Sapp, 61, of Bowling Green, formerly of Ohio County, passed away, Tuesday, February 11, 2014. She was born July 28, 1952 in Ohio County, Kentucky to Lonnie and Clarice L. Ferguson Felty. She was a member of Beaver Dam United Methodist Church and she attended Living Hope Church in Bowling Green. She was an elementary school teacher for the Ohio County Board of Education as well as an education consultant for Western Kentucky and eventually retired from the State of Tennessee Education Department.

Virginia M. Neighbors, 84, of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away Monday, February 10, 2014. She worked for the Dollar General Stores for over 10 years as a manager. Virginia is survived by her husband, Desper C. Neighbors, Jr. of Indianapolis, Indiana; 2 children - Edith (John) Newlan of Plainfield, Indiana and Gary (Cindy) Neighbors of Stanford, Kentucky; grandchildren Christina Yeoman, Deborah Marks, Jenny Sanders, Brian Neighbors, Angela Culley; 13 great-grandchildren; sisters Juanita Montgomery, Emma Sisk, and brothers Floyd and Thomas Richard Coley. Dr. Carlton L. Jackson

Carlton Jackson's life began on January 15, 1933, in Blount County, AL, on Sand Mountain.  He passed away at his home in Butler County, KY, on February 10, 2014.  The youngest of nine siblings, he was the son of Luther Harrison Jackson and Winnie Lee Forester Jackson.  A high school dropout at the age of 18, he had never left Alabama.  He longed for travel and adventure, whether it was the world or within the US.  His journey began on February 10, 1951, after enlisting in the United States Air Force.  His service took him from New Mexico to New Jersey to England to California.

Pearl Drake

Pearl Drake, 85 of Owensboro, Kentucky, passed away Monday, February 3, 2014 at her residence. Pearl was born October 28, 1928 in Butler County, Kentucky to the late Eclus (Eck) and Mazie Kitchens Harper and was wife of the late Bervie E. Drake. She was retired from Hillcrest Nursing Home in Owensboro, Ky. She is preceded in death by one son Donnie Drake; two brothers A.E. and Leon Harper; two sisters Jean Russ and Sue Hartis; sister in law Hilda Harper and three brother in laws Claude Banks, Gailey Hartis and Aaron Benson.

Roland Stephens

Roland Stephens, age 89 of Roundhill died February 1.  He was the husband of the late Jessie Mardell Stephens who passed in 2004.

Survivors include a son, Dale Stephens (Judy) of Bowling Green, two granddaughters Angie Gipson (Brent) and Jennifer Kelton (Jason), two great granddaughters Emma and Kara Gipson.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 11a.m. at J. C. Kirby & Son Broadway Chapel, with burial in the Fairview Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and after 9 a.m. Wednesday at the Broadway Chapel.

Charles L. Amos

Charles L. Amos, 73 of Morgantown, Ky. passed away Sunday February 2, 2014 at the Greenview Regional Hospital in Bowling Green, Ky. Charles was born April 24, 1940 in Butler County Kentucky to the late Herman Dallas and Ethel Dee Shepherd Amos. Charles graduated from Butler County High School Class of 1959. He enlisted in the United States Army after graduation and served 2 1/2 years. He returned to Morgantown, Ky. and married his wife Paula Amos on April 29, 1962. Charles began a career in manufacturing that lead him and his family to Louisville, Ky.

Marie Steff Evans, age 92, of Clarkson, KY, passed away Sunday, (February 2, 2014) at Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center in Leitchfield, KY.

She was born on March 25, 1921, in Ohio County, KY, the daughter of the late Ernest Sr. and Ora Wright Steff.

Gladys Marie Jones Neighbors,76 of Morgantown,Kentucky, passed away Friday, January 31,2014 at the Medical Center in Bowling Green,Kentucky. Gladys was born July 3,1937, to the late Herbert and Mary House Jones. She was a homemaker and a  member of Carve Rock Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by son in-law Gary McCoy, 5 brothers; Chester, William, Clifford, Newt, and Joe Jones, 5 sisters;Delia Renfrow, Alta White, Tinsie White, Mary Neighbors, and Louise Jones.

Marjorie Dean  Salley Toms, age 81 of Park City, lifelong partner of Robert L. “Wimpy” Toms,  passed away Thursday, January 30, 2014 at her residence. She was born  December 9, 1932  to the late Sylvester and Nell May Myers Salley of Kyrock.  She joined in Heaven with her  mother, Nell and  father, Sylvester,  precious daughter, Beverly Jean Gillon and brother, James Salley.
