Vindell "Shorty" Webster, 74 of Bowling Green, Ky. formerly of Morgantown, Ky. passed away Saturday, December 31, 2016, at the University of Louisville Hospital in Louisville, Ky. Vindell was born on Friday, October 16, 1942, in Butler County Kentucky to the late David and Louis Jenkins Webster. He was of the Presbyterian Faith, and a United States Navy Veteran, He had a career of 28.5 years with the Bowling Green Fire Dept. being hired as a fireman on May 1, 1969 with promotions along the way he became the Chief of Bowling Green Fire Dept. on December 19, 1990 and served in that position until his retirement on January 1, 1998. Vindell has the great honor of having Station 5 on Porter Pike named after him The Vindell Webster Fire Station. Other than his parents he is preceded in death by two brothers Marvin and David Lynn Webster; one sister Brenda "BB" Webster and one nephew David Kessinger.
Vindell "Shorty" Webster is survived by one sister Mae Kessinger of Morgantown, Ky.; two nieces Mechelle Kessinger  of Bowling Green, Ky. and Kim West (Timmy) of Morgantown, Ky.; two great nieces Payton Pharris and Whitney Phelps both of Morgantown, Ky.; two great nephews Dillon Kessinger of Bowling Green, Ky. and Garrett Kessinger of Morgantown, Ky.; great great niece Addyson Pharris of Morgantown, Ky. and one great great nephew Mathew Frashure- Kendall of Morgantown, Ky.
Funeral services will be held at the Jones Funeral Chapel Thursday, January 5, 2017, at 12:00 pm with Bro. Joe Henderson officiating.
Burial will be in the Caney Fork Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 4, 2017, from 12:00 pm - 8:00 pm and Thursday 8:00 am until funeral time at 12:00 pm at the Jones Funeral Chapel. Full Fireman Rites will be conducted for Vindell by the Bowling Green Fire Dept. Honor Guard at the funeral home as well as at the Caney Fork Cemetery.
