Paul Wayne Southerland, 70 of Lewisburg, Kentucky died on Monday, December 22, 2014, at Commonwealth Regional Specialty Hospital in Bowling Green, Kentucky.

He was born Thursday, March 30, 1944, the son of the late John Southerland and the late Josephine Hawes Southerland. He was the husband of the late Pat Knight Southerland.

He was a Foreman for Emerson Electric.

Bobby L. Carroll, 73, of  Morgantown, passed away Thursday, December 25, 2014 at the Heartford House in Owensboro.  He was born July 7,1941  in Grayson County  to the late Mancy and Francis Carroll.  He was owner and operator of Carroll Contracting and was a member of Wilson Home General Baptist Church.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Mancy and Francis Carroll; first wife, Jean Renfrow Carroll, second wife, Kathy Johnson Carroll; three brothers, Roy, Charles and Donald Carroll; two sisters, Myrtle Goff and Linda Ferris.

Douglas Melvin Patton, 91, of  Rochester, passed away Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at the  Medical Center in Bowling Green.  He was born April 23,1923  in Muhlenberg County  to the late Ewell Alvis and Victoria Patton.  He retired from TVA and was also a retired Merchant Marine and served in the Army for 3 years - he saw the world by ship.  He loved his family, his dog Booger,  working in his yard and was an avid NASCAR and football fan, with a fondness for Ford Thunderbirds.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Ewell and Victoria Patton; one brother, Alvis, and one sister, Jeanette.

Tommy Hunt, 70, of Huntsville, Kentucky passed away Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at his residence. Tommy was born December 21, 1944 in Butler County, Kentucky to the late Karl Delbert and Amy Hammers Hunt and husband of the late Janice Sue Hunt. He was a member of Huntsville Missionary Baptist Church and a retried CNA at Morgantown Care and Rehab. Other than his parents and wife, he is preceded in death by three brothers -  Delbert, Hugh and Max Hunt, and one sister - Patty Gravil.

Bobby Pierce, 77 of Morgantown, Ky. passed away Sunday December 21, 2014 at the Medical Center in Bowling Green, Ky. Bobby was born May 26, 1937 in Ohio County Kentucky to the late Noble and Mae Tarrance Pierce. He was a member of Belmont General Baptist Church, Cassia Lodge #272 and retired retail car dealer. Other than his parents he is preceded in death by one brother W D Pierce and one sister Shirley Maiden.

Bobby Ross (Bob) Flener passed from this earth on Friday, December 19, 2014, after a long illness. He was born July 18, 1932, in Morgantown, KY.
Bob leaves behind his devoted wife of 61 years, Sue Wilson Flener, daughters Andrea Southworth, (Larry), Leslie Webster (Greg), granddaughter Emilie Southworth Barrick (Adam), grandson Hayden Chance Webster, and great-grandson Henry Thomas Barrick. He was preceded in death by his father, Ertest Linden Flener, his mother, Hattie Berry Flener Bradley, and Lt. Col. John M. Bradley.

Jessie "Judy" Gilbert-Chesser, 69, of Louisville, passed away Thursday, December 18, 2014.

Born in Caneyville, she was the owner of Norris Place Ice Cream and a sales representative for Avon.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Annie Phelps.

She is survived by her loving husband, Ronnie Chesser; children, Barbara Ceron, Floyd Gilbert, Jr., his wife, Karen and Rick Gilbert; brother, Talford; sisters, Beauchenia, Barbara and Betty; eight grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren.

Gordon Simpson, 95, of Beaver Dam, passed away, Thursday, December 18, 2014 at Beaver Dam Nursing and Rehab Center. He was born October 11, 1919 in Butler County, KY to the late Guy Willard and Lillie Jane Johnson Simpson. He was of Baptist faith and a retired coal miner.

Beside his parents he was preceded in death by seven brothers, Oscar Simpson, Floyd Simpson, Sam Simpson, Audley Simpson, Orvel Simpson, George Simpson, and Tom Simpson and three sisters, Jewell Jackson, Gradie Chapman, and Gladis Holland.

Survivors include several nieces and nephews.

Robert M. Hamilton, 80 of Morgantown, Ky. passed away Thursday, December 18, 2014 at his granddaughters residence. Robert was born March 24, 1934 in Lexington, Kentucky to the late John Raymond and Minnie Ethel Taylor Brothers. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Koran War Army National Guard Veteran and retired from State of California Division of Highways. Other than his parents he is preceded in death by one daughter Shirley Marie Hamilton, one son Lawrence Hamilton, one granddaughter Nicole Hamilton and two brothers Ray and Ronnie Hamilton.

Lloyd Edward Swift, 58, of  Morgantown, Ky. passed away Thursday, December 18, 2014 at the Medical Center in Bowling Green.  Lloyd was born October 14, 1956 in Grayson Co., Ky. to the late Amos Edward Swift Jr.
