Loretta Howard Cardwell, 98, of Morgantown, Ky. passed away on Monday, December 10, 2018 at the Medical Center of Bowling Green.  She was born in Butler County on December 14, 1919 to the late Charles and Mittie Daugherty Howard.  Loretta was a homemaker, loved to cook, sew, and work puzzles.  She was a member of Mt. Vernon Missionary Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband  Rev.

Martha Margaret Davis Barrow, 93 of Morgantown, Kentucky passed away Sunday December 9, 2018 at her residence. Martha was born August 24, 1925 in Shelbyville, TN to the late James and Sara Virginia Bolin Davis and wife of the late Levi Barrow. She was a member of Shiloh Church of Christ and a homemaker. Martha enjoyed gardening, canning, quilting and most of all spending time with family.

Elvera Mullen McCoy, 86, of Louisville, Ky. passed away on Saturday, Dec. 8, 2018. She was born in Lewisburg, Ky. on Mar.

Jimmie Lee Adkins, 80, of Bowling Green, Ky. passed away on Sunday, Dec. 9, 2018.  He was born in Butler Co., Ky. on Nov.

Gwendolyn Royal, 80, passed away on December 5, 2018. She was the office manager at Jefferson Special Police for over 30 years and a member of Evangel World Prayer Center. Gwen was a loving mother and grandmother who had a heart of gold and was a friend to many.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William O. Royal; parents, Herbert and Kathleen Whittinghill Colburn and sister, Sondra Kay Colburn.

Dyke McKinney, 86, of Morgantown, Ky. passed away on Friday, Dec. 7, 2018 at his residence. He was born in Butler Co., Ky.

John Covington Morris, Jr., 82, of Catonsville, Md., passed away Thursday, Nov. 22, 2018, Thanksgiving Day, at the Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, Pa.  Known to his family as
“Johnny,” he was born in Meridian, MS. on Nov. 15, 1936.  Johnny was the only son of John C. Morris, Sr. and Ruth Martin Morris of Morgantown, Ky. and Logansport, Ky., respectively.

Raymond Lee Keown, 74, of Morgantown, Ky. passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2018 at the Hospice House of Southern Kentucky. He was born in Butler Co., Ky. on Jan. 19, 1944 to the late Dentsley and Ollie Johnson Keown.  He enjoyed hunting and fishing.  Raymond is preceded in death by his parents; wife Alice Keown and many brothers and sisters.

James Estill Embry, 83, of Morgantown, Kentucky, passed away Thursday December 6, 2018 at the Medical Center in Bowling Green, Kentucky. James was born April 1, 1935 in Butler County, Kentucky to the late Costello and Floy Belle Embry. He was a United States Army Veteran, member of Oak Ridge General Baptist where he served as a Deacon and on the Oak Ridge Christian Academy School Board. James was a member of the 5th District Volunteer Fire Department and served on the 5th District Fire Dept. Board.
