Lelia 'Mae' Bobbett

Lelia 'Mae' Bobbett, 93, formerly of Bowling Green passed away at Morgantown Care and Rehab on October 10, 2016.

She was born on October 15, 1922 to the late David and Effie Fortner Bumpus in Butler County, Kentucky. She was also preceded in death by husband, Richard Bobbett; an infant son; four sisters; and two brothers. She was a homemaker and was very active in United Calvary Baptist Church.

 Maxine Wood, 80 of Morgantown, Ky. passed away Tuesday, October 11, 2016, at the Morgantown Care & Rehab. Maxine was born August 11, 1936, in Butler County Kentucky to the late Clyde Clifton and Nina Berry Hunt and wife of the late Willard Arnold Wood. She was a member of Morgantown Methodist Church and Methodist Women. She was a retired kindergarten instructional aid. Other than her parents and husband she is preceded in death by two sisters Christine Plantz and Janice Phelps.

Alma Jean Morris, 63 of Morgantown, Ky. passed away peacefully surrounded by her family and friends on Monday, October 10, 2016 at the Hospice of Southern Kentucky Hospice House in Bowling Green, Ky. Alma Jean was born November 3, 1952, in Butler County Kentucky to Beulah Dearing. She was a member of Big Muddy Missionary Baptist Church and a caregiver. She is preceded in death by one brother Lee Dearing.

Imogene "Jean" White

Imogene "Jean" White, 70 of Morgantown, Ky. passed away Sunday, October 9, 2016, at the Medical Center in Bowling Green, Ky., Jean was born January 6, 1946, in Grayson County Kentucky to the late Wendell and Beulah VanMeter Snyder. She was a member of New Liberty Missionary Baptist Church and retired from Daicel. Other than her parents she is preceded in death by one brother Randy Snyder and two daughters in- laws Donna White and Janice White.

Lemmie D. Coots

Lemmie D. Coots, 80, passed away on Friday, Oct. 7, 2016, at The Ohio County Hospital. He was born on May 3, 1936, in Butler County. 

Lemmie served his country in the U.S. Air Force, working with SAC on B-47’s.  He was a member of New Harmony Baptist Church, was a heavy equipment mechanic with Whayne Supply, Sandefur’s Excuvating and Peabody Coal Company.  He loved his family, UK Basketball, quail hunting and had a great sense of humor.  He was a member of Beaver Dam Masonic Lodge #420, and Kentucky Chapter of Campers On Mission.

Olivia Warren, 89 of Morgantown, Ky. passed away Friday, October 7, 2016, at the Morgantown Care & Rehab. Olivia was born September 9, 1927, in McHenry Kentucky to the late Ethel Pernod. She was selected as a Jefferson Award winner in 1990. This award is given as recognition for exceptional community service.

Linda Sue Nash, 57, of Morgantown, KY, passed away Thursday, October 6, 2016, at the Medical Center in Bowling Green, KY. Linda was born May 14, 1959, in Butler County, KY to the late Harold Embry and Christine Phelps Embry who survives. She attended Temple View General Baptist Church and was the manager of the Morgantown Elementary School cafeteria. Other than her father she is preceded in death by her husband Joey D. Nash.

Clyde Jeril Deweese 66, died Oct. 6, 2016, at his residence.  He was the husband of Bonnie Parrish Deweese.  He will be laid to rest at the Bonnie and Clyde Deweese Cemetery, Region Road in Roundhill, KY, which he founded.

Aubrey Ray “Joe” Peay

Aubrey Ray “Joe” Peay, 84, of Reed, Kentucky, died peacefully in his sleep at his home on Friday, September 30, 2016. Now he flies with the angels.

He was born March 25, 1932, in Butler County, Kentucky, one of eight children, to the late Aubrey Peay and Katie Peay. Joe graduated from Rochester High School in 1952. He worked at Swift’s and retired from Alcoa after 29 years. He enjoyed going to estate sales and auctions and working on cars. He was a Baptist.
