Donnie Dewayne Flener

Donnie Dewayne Flener, 61 of Morgantown, Ky. passed away Tuesday, November 1, 2016, at his residence. Dewayne was born September 4, 1955, in Butler County Kentucky to the late Foy C. and Flora Mae Flener and husband of the late Nova Robinson Flener. He was a retired boilermaker and a member of the Boilermaker Local #40. Other than his parents and wife he is preceded in death by two sisters Vondalene Hill and Judy Forbes and two brothers Chester and Ed Flener.

Chesley S. Daugherty

Chesley S. Daugherty, age 92 of Banock, KY, passed away on Friday, October 28, 2016.  Born on October 1, 1924 to the late Enos and Audra Howard Daugherty, Mr. Daugherty lived most of his life in Butler County.  He graduated from Morgantown High School in April of 1944. For the next year he farmed on the family farm.  In March 1945, he joined his older brothers in service to his country by enlisting in the United States Marine Corps to serve in WWII.  He completed basic training at Paris Island with follow up training at Camps Le Jeune and Pendleton.

Denzel Delanto Casey, 77 of Beaver Dam, Kentucky  went to be with his Heavenly  Father on October  29,  2016,  at the  Ohio  County  Hospital in Hartford,  Kentucky.   He was  born  February  18,  1939,  in  Butler  County, Kentucky to the late Monroe and Gertrude Embry Casey.

Lovejoy "Bud" Brown Marders

Lovejoy "Bud" Brown Marders, 89, of  Morgantown, passed away Saturday, October 29, 2016, at the Morgantown Care and Rehab Center, Morgantown, Ky. He was born in Memphis, Tn. on April 12, 1927, to the late Andrew Lovejoy and Margaret Taylor Brown Marders.  He retired from General Electric, was a member of Rochester United Methodist Church and was an avid U of L basketball fan.    He was preceded in death by his parents.

Peggy Upton Benfield

Peggy Upton Benfield, age 84, of 2140 Country Club Road in Lincolnton, died on Thursday, October 27, 2016.

Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 29, 2016, at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Phillip Cole and Pastor Scott Mann of New Vision Ministries officiating.  Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 12:00 until 1:45 p.m. in the sanctuary prior to the service.

Patricia Vonnell Neighbors King, 74, of  Tompkinsville, Ky., entered eternal rest Friday, October 28, 2016, at her residence in Tompkinsville. She was born in Butler Co. on June 29, 1942, to the late William Neighbors and Margie Tarrence Neighbors.  Patricia attended Church of God, loved to cook and can. She was preceded in death by her parents, son; Edward C. King, 2 step children, and one brother; Estill Neighbors.

Carl D. Phelps

Carl D. Phelps, 77 of Morgantown, Ky. went to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 27, 2016, at the Medical Center in Bowling Green, Ky. Carl was born April 2, 1939, in Butler County Kentucky to the late George P. and Esther Webster Phelps. He was a member of Carve Rock Independent Baptist Church and retired from Millers Bottled Gas. Carl enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, and he enjoyed training and working with horses. Other than his parents he is preceded in death by one son Tony Phelps, one daughter Connie Phelps, six brothers and two sisters.

Larry Joe Reynolds Sr.

Larry Joe Reynolds Sr., 73, of Beaver Dam, KY, entered into rest on Friday, October 28, 2016 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. Joe was born in Midway, KY on February 19, 1943 to Lester and Mary Reynolds. He was a retiree of American Nonwoven and a six year employee of Wonder Bread. Joe enjoyed spending time with his family, watching the future 2016 World Series Champs the Chicago Cubs, watching NASCAR (specifically Dale Earnhardt), and watching game shows, his favorite being Family Feud.

Verlon Ray Oaks, 66 of Morgantown, Ky. passed away Wednesday, October 26, 2016, at his residence. Verlon was born October 4, 1950, in Ohio County Kentucky to the late Dewey and Ollie Hall Oaks. He was of the Jehovah Witness Faith and other than his parents he is preceded in death by three sisters Juanita Rogers, Wanda Southerland and Roxie Harder and two brothers Glen and Walter Oaks.

Gerald L. "Dickie" Clark

Gerald L. "Dickie" Clark, 70 of Roundhill, Ky. passed away Wednesday, October 26, 2016, in Bowling Green, Ky. Dickie was born December 10, 1945, in Butler County Kentucky to the late Gerald V. and Pauline Clark who survives. He was a member of Roundhill Church of Christ and retired from Holley after 37years. Other than his father he is preceded in death by his granddaughter Raven Durbin.
