Stephen Earl Shields

Stephen Earl Shields, age 66, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Tuesday, (November 15, 2016) at the Medical Center in Bowling Green.

He was born on August 27, 1950, in Sunfish, KY, the son of the late Mancel E. and Virginia D. Cummings Shields.

He was a truck driver and diesel mechanic, who enjoyed his work, and worked hard. He loved his dogs.

Roger Dale Burns, 67 of Bowling Green, Ky. went home to be with the Lord on November 14, 2016. He was passionate about his love for Christ: he was a faithful servant to the very end. He attended Blair Elementary and Central High School in St. Louis, Missouri where he was born on March 3rd, 1949. He lived there until moving to Bowling Green, Ky. in 1981. He is a WKU Alumni and a retiree of General Motors, where he worked for 38 years. After retiring from GM, he went on to work for the Bowling Green Independent School system as a substitute teacher. Carolyn Sue Spivey, 68 of Lewisburg, Kentucky died on Sunday, November 13, 2016, at Auburn Health Care in Auburn, Kentucky.

She was born Thursday, December 11, 1947 in Drakesboro, Kentucky, and was the daughter of the late Kenneth Baugh and the late Mary Gibbs Baugh. She was the wife of Alvin Spivey, who survives.

She was a seamstress for Red Kap Industries and a member of the Lewisburg Church of Christ.

Ernest Wayne Carroll, 50 of Morgantown, Ky. passed away Thursday, November 10, 2016, at the Ohio County Hospital in Hartford Kentucky. Ernest was born February 17, 1966, in Indianapolis Indiana to the late Paul and Elizabeth Bingham Carroll. Other than his parents he is preceded in death by two sisters Freda Burris and Eva Givens and two brothers Johnny Edward Carroll and Baron Carroll.

Lois was born December 31, 1951 to the late Lafe and Winnie Mae Renfrow of Morgantown, KY

Lois Miles, graduated from Butler County High School in 1969, an honor student having received her B.S. & M.A. degrees from Western Kentucky University in Elementary Education and Library Science. She was the recipient of the R.C.P. Thomas Award and an honor graduate from The College of Education. Lois was a retired elementary teacher.

Obie Woosley Jr, 73, of Caneyville, passed away Friday, November 4th, 2016 at Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center. 

He was born on Wednesday, January 20th, 1943 in Butler County, the son of the late Obie Woosley Sr. and Gertie Mae (Brooks) Woosley. He was a member of the Church of Christ faith and also a farmer.

Kenneth Earl Barks, 81, of Shepherdsville, Ky. passed away Friday, November 4, 2016, at the Baptist Hospital in Louisville. He was born in Butler Co. on October 12, 1935, to the late Clifton Earl Barks and Ola Mae Gidcumb Barks. Kenneth was a retired Electrician from G.E., an Army Veteran, avid UK fan, loved collecting antiques and spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers James, Wilford, and Harrold Barks.

Donnie Dewayne Flener, 61 of Morgantown, Ky. passed away Tuesday, November 1, 2016, at his residence. Dewayne was born September 4, 1955, in Butler County Kentucky to the late Foy C. and Flora Mae Flener and husband of the late Nova Robinson Flener. He was a retired boilermaker and a member of the Boilermaker Local #40. Other than his parents and wife he is preceded in death by two sisters Vondalene Hill and Judy Forbes and two brothers Chester and Ed Flener.
