Jimmie Lee Adkins

Jimmie Lee Adkins, 80, of Bowling Green, Ky. passed away on Sunday, Dec. 9, 2018.  He was born in Butler Co., Ky. on Nov. 14, 1938  to the late Ray and Bonnie Lindsey Adkins.  He was a member of Glendale Baptist Church and worked construction with Kelly and Wilmore.  He loved to tinker and collect knives, watches and ink pens.  He is preceded in death by his parents; step child Michael Eugene Miller; great grandchild William Webb; brothers DP and Charles Adkins; sisters Rebecca Adkins and Sally Morris; ex wife Nellie Mae Miller Adkins.

 

Jimmie is survived by his sons Edward Lee Adkins of Bowling Green, Thomas Ray Adkins (Melissa Kessinger) of Morgantown and Terry Wayne Adkins (Janice) of Rockfield; ten grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; stepchildren Hazel Fuqua (Thomas) of Roanoke, Va., Alice Stiles (Rob), Joyce Boards and Sandy Carlisle (Steve) all of Bowling Green; sisters Ruth Mendez of Bowling Green, Fredia Carroll (Tommy) of Morgantown and Rita Christian (Weldon) of Louisville; brothers Sam Adkins (Carol) of Bowling Green and Glen Adkins of Louisville; several nieces and nephews.

 

Funeral Service will be held at 1pm on Thursday, Dec. 13 at Smith Funeral Home with Bro. Joe Causey officiating.  Burial will follow in the Payton Phelps Cemetery.  Visitation will be on Wednesday, Dec. 12 from 5pm-8pm and Thursday 8am until time of service at Smith Funeral Home.
