Obra "Shorty" Johnson, 82, of Morgantown, Kentucky passed away January 1, 2019 at the Morgantown Care & Rehab. Shorty was born April 1, 1936 in Butler County, Kentucky to the late James and Zona Kessinger Johnson and husband of the late Verlon Johnson and Jonell Johnson. He attended New Beginnings Church and loved wood working and fishing. He took great pride in working in concrete and loved his job as a concrete finisher. Other than his parents and wives, he is preceded in death by one son-Roger Johnson; one sister Ethel Coldwell; five brothers-Waitress Embry, Estley Johnson, Richel Johnson, James "Uncle Bill" Johnson; and a twin brother that passed away at birth; and one son-in-law, Paul Woodward. 

Obra "Shorty" Johnson is survived by three daughters: Linda Darnell Woodward of Morgantown, KY; Lisa Coomes and husband Jeff of Morgantown, KY; and Tina Davis and husband Brian of Texas; one son-Keith Johnson of Morgantown, KY; two sisters-Magalean Bell of Alabama and Lottie Johnson of Morgantown, KY; 17 grandchildren- Brandon Embry, Brooke Embry Hannah Davis, Abby Coomes, Braxton Coomes, Trenton Dorris, Dillon Henderson, Madison Russ, Jessica Cardwell, Alta Hansler, Telena Baldwin, Emily Dwyer, Brian Johnson, Steven, Danille, Nicholas and Kaitlin Davis; several great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. 

Funeral services will be held at the Belmont General Baptist Church Friday January 4, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. with Bro. Gary Embry officiating. Private burial will be held in the Belmont Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday January 4, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. until funeral time at 1:00 p.m. at Belmont General Baptist Church.
