Raymond "Thel" Beliles

Raymond "Thel" Beliles, 93, of Smiths Grove, Ky. went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2019 at the Commonwealth Regional Specialty Hospital in Bowling Green Ky. He was born in Butler Co., Ky. on June 8, 1925 to the late Lloyd and Hallie McCoy Beliles.  He was a member of Sandy Creek Missionary Baptist Church and was a WWII Army Veteran.  He retired from Kellwood where he was a supervisor for several years, was an avid Kentucky Wildcats Basketball fan and a New York Yankee's baseball fan.  He enjoyed buying, selling and repairing antiques.  Thel is preceded in death by his parents; brothers Denzil, Denver and Wayne Beliles; sister Lorell Mayhugh.

He is survived by his wife of 73 years Ovie Henderson Beliles; son Tony R. Beliles (Pamela) of Bowling Green; daughter Jayne Meeks (Charles) of Smiths Grove; four grandchildren Charity Parrish (Darren) of Smiths Grove, Jarrod Beliles (Lisa), Blake Beliles Esq. (fiance Lindsey Smith), Dr. Chase Beliles (Lindsay) all of Bowling Green; four great grandchildren; sisters Evanell McCoy of Louisville and Marcell Reynolds (Forrest) of Owensboro; two step grandsons Chris Meeks (Deanna) and Casey Meeks (Amy) of Smiths Grove; six step great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service will be held at 1pm on Saturday, Jan. 5 at Smith Funeral Home with Bro. Wayne Stewart officiating.  Burial will follow in the Sandy Creek Cemetery where Military Honors will be presented by AmVets Post #117.  Visitation will be on Friday, Jan. 4 from 3-8pm and Saturday 10am until time of service at Smith Funeral Home.
