Butler County rolls past Owensboro, 9-1

MORGANTOWN - Butler County rolled past visiting Owensboro 9-1 in a high school softball game on Monday, April 26. 

Setting the tone early, Butler County plated five runs in the bottom half of the first inning. 

Aliceson Hunt earned the win in the circle for the Bears. Hunt surrendered one run on three hits over seven innings, striking out one and walking one.

Bears defeat Edmonson County for district win

 

BROWNSVILLE - Butler County overcame a slow start to defeat homestanding Edmonson County in a 12th District baseball game, winning 15-3 in four innings on Monday, April 19. 

After facing a two-run deficit at the end of the opening inning, Butler County scored three runs to move ahead. The Bears led 10-3 at the conclusion of the third inning. 

Jake McKee earned the win on the mound for the Bears. McKee surrendered three runs on four hits over four innings, striking out seven.

Bears blank Grayson County 15-0 for district win

MORGANTOWN - Behind a no-hitter from pitcher Aliceson Hunt, Butler County blanked visiting Grayson County 15-0 in three innings in a 12th District softball game on Tuesday, April 13. 

The Bears set the tone early, scoring 11 runs in the bottom half of the first inning.

Butler County plated 15 runs on 17 hits.

Helping her pitching cause, Hunt led Butler County at the plate, finishing 3-for-3 with four RBIs.

Spring Wild Turkey Season Preview

FRANKFORT - The redbuds are blooming and the spring peepers can be heard across the Bluegrass, meaning springtime in Kentucky is upon us, and so is another highly anticipated season of wild turkey hunting.Resident and non-resident turkey hunters in Kentucky will have their sights set on a healthy wild turkey population and abundant hunting opportunities statewide. The general statewide season begins April 17 and continues through May 9, 2021.

Hunters will want to start with scouting for birds before the season opens.

MORGANTOWN - Butler County was limited at the plate as visiting Daviess County prevailed 5-3 in a high school baseball game on Monday, April 12. 
Daviess County outhit the Bears 8-3. The Panthers overcame three errors to claim the win.

LEITCHFIELD - Butler County won two of three games in the Grayson County Spring Break Bash on Friday, April 9. The Bears notched wins over Knox Central and North Hardin while dropping a game to Christian Academy-Louisville.

Butler County Softball goes 3-1 at Hickman tournament; beats Meade 7-6

With two wins over the weekend and a 7-6 victory over Meade County on Thursday, the Butler County High School Bears advanced to 5-1 on the season.

CLINTON - Butler County went 2-1 in the Hickman County-hosted Lady Falcon Invitational on Saturday, April 3, blanking Ballard Memorial 7-0, defeating Hancock County 10-1, and suffering a 4-0 loss to Calloway County.

Bears beat Hancock County, return to win column

HAWESVILLE - Butler County beat homestanding Hancock County 9-4 to return to the win column on Friday, April 2. 

The Bears dealt Hancock County its first loss in the 2021 high school baseball season. 

After nothing the win, Butler County improved to 3-1.

Hancock County dropped to 3-1 following the loss. 

Hunter McKee earned the win on the mound for the Bears. McKee allowed four hits and three runs over five innings, striking out nine.
