 Butler County 5, Edmonson County 3

 
MORGANTOWN - Butler County held on to defeat visiting Edmonson County 5-3 in a 12th District softball game on Tuesday, April 20.
The Bears outhit Edmonson County 9-3.
Butler County scored first and never trailed. The Bears pushed across two runs in the bottom half of the first inning. 
Butler County led 4-0 before Edmonson County manufactured three runs in the top half of the fifth inning.
The Bears added one run in the bottom half of the fifth inning to set the final score. 
Aliceson Hunt led Butler County to the district victory in the circle. Hunt allowed three hits and three runs over seven innings, striking out three and walking zero as she claimed the pitching win.
Julie Norris suffered the pitching loss for Edmonson County. Norris pitched three innings, allowing five hits and three runs while striking out one and walking zero.
Helping her pitching cause at the plate early during the district game, Hunt homered in the first inning.
Hunt, Carley Jones and Autumn Proctor paced Butler County at the plate, providing two hits apiece for the Bears. Proctor drove in three of Butler County's five runs. 
The Bears are scheduled to visit Edmonson County for a 12th District softball game on Tuesday, April 27. 
 

Butler County tops Todd County Central, 13-3 (5 innings)

 MORGANTOWN - Butler County topped visiting Todd County Central 13-3 in five innings in a high school softball game on Monday, April 19. 

Familiar rivals, Butler County and Todd County Central met in a non-district matchup. 

Butler County overcame three errors to win convincingly. 

Aliceson Hunt was the winning pitcher for the Bears. Hunt allowed nine hits and three runs over five innings, striking out three and walking one.

Todd County Central pitcher Haylee Vass took the loss in the circle. Vass surrendered six runs on five hits over one inning, walking zero.

Butler County outhit Todd County Central 11-9. 

Autumn Proctor, Carley Jones, Madison Clark and Aleace Hall combined to lead Butler County offensively, providing two hits apiece for the Bears. 

Dakotah Gammon and Abby Williams paced Todd County Central at the plate, delivering two hits each for the Rebels. 

Struggling defensively, Todd County Central committed eight errors in the setback. 

  

Bears finish 2-1 in Butler County Round Robin

 MORGANTOWN - The Butler County softball team won two of three games in its round robin event on Saturday, April 17, notching wins over Hancock County and Allen County-Scottsville.

The Bears dropped a game to Holy Cross (Louisville) in the Butler County Round Robin.

Butler County 6, Allen County-Scottsville 0:

Butler County blanked Allen County-Scottsville 6-0 on Saturday, April 17. 

Aliceson Hunt led Butler County to the victory in the pitcher's circle. Hunt surrendered zero runs on five hits, striking out three and walking one as she claimed the pitching win.

Butler County outhit Allen County-Scottsville 8-5. 

Autumn Proctor and Olivia Austin paced Butler County at the plate, providing two hits apiece for the Bears. 

Holy Cross (Louisville) 7, Butler County 5 (6 innings):

Butler County fell short as Holy Cross (Louisville) held on to win 7-5 in six innings on Saturday, April 17. 

Aliceson Hunt took the pitching loss for the Bears. Hunt pitched a complete game, allowing eight runs on 11 hits while striking out three and walking one.

Holy Cross outhit Butler county 11-8. 

Olivia Austin and Aubrey Clark collected two hits apiece to pace Butler County at the plate. 

Butler County 5, Hancock County 4:

Determined Butler County outlasted Hancock County 5-4 on Saturday, April 17.

Aliceson Hunt was the winning pitcher for the Bears. Hunt pitched a complete game, allowing four runs on seven hits while striking out one and walking one.

Proctor homered for Butler County in the opening inning. 

Butler County edged Hancock County 8-7 in the hits column and overcame three errors to win.

Proctor and Olivia Austin paced Butler County at the plate, providing two hits apiece. 

 

Bears fend off McLean County, 8-5

 MORGANTOWN - Butler County fended off visiting McLean County in a high school softball game on Friday, April 16, winning 8-5.

The Bears outhit McLean County 12-4 and overcame six errors to notch the win.

Butler County pitcher Aliceson Hunt earned the win in the circle. Hunt pitched a complete game, allowing four hits and five runs while striking out 10 over seven innings.

McLean County pitcher Taylor Galloway suffered the loss in the circle. Galloway pitched six innings, allowing 12 hits and eight runs while striking out three.

Offensively for the Bears, Carley Jones homered in the first inning. 

Hunt, Jones and Isabella Akers each collected multiple hits for the Bears. The versatile Hunt and Jones provided three hits apiece to pace Butler County at the plate. 

Galloway led McLean County at the plate, delivering two hits in four at-bats.

McLean County committed four errors in the field. 

The Bears are scheduled to visit McLean County on May 7. 

 

Butler County drops district game to Whitesville Trinity 

 WHITESVILLE - Visiting Butler County fell short as Whitesville Trinity prevailed 4-2 in a 12th District softball game on Thursday, April 15. 

Butler County lost despite outhitting Whitesville Trinity 6-5. 

Whitesville Trinity plated three runs in the bottom half of the fifth inning to move ahead of the Bears.

Lexy Edge was the winning pitcher for Whitesville Trinity. Edge pitched five innings, allowing four hits and two runs while striking out two and walking zero. 

Closing out the district game, Allie Barnett pitched two innings in relief for Whitesville Trinity. 

Aliceson Hunt suffered the pitching loss for Butler County. Hunt allowed five hits and four runs over six innings, striking out three and walking zero.

Georgia Howard led Whitesville Trinity at the plate, providing two hits in three at-bats.

Helping her pitching cause at the plate, Hunt homered for the Bears. 

Hunt, Conley Moore, Aubrey Clark, Madison Clark, Carley Jones and Aleace Hall each collected one hit for Butler County in the setback.

Defensively, each 12th District softball team committed two errors.
