Bears beat Grayson County in five innings, 19-9

MORGANTOWN - Butler County pulled away to beat visiting Grayson County 19-9 in five innings in the semifinals of the 12th District Softball Tournament on Monday, May 31.

Butler County falls to Owensboro Catholic

 

OWENSBORO - Butler County fell behind early and couldn't battle back as host Owensboro Catholic pulled away to win 16-1 in three innings in a high school baseball game on Thursday, May 27. 

Owensboro Catholic outhit the Bears 8-1 and fared well in the field, committing only one error. 

Sam McFarland earned the win on the mound for the Aces, pitching a one-hitter. 

Kolton Hudson took the pitching loss for the Bears.

Bears hold off Franklin-Simpson, wins 8-6

 

FRANKLIN - Visiting Butler County held on to defeat Franklin-Simpson 8-6 in a high school softball game on Thursday, May 27.

Aliceson Hunt pitched a complete game and earned the win in the circle for Butler County. Hunt surrendered six runs on 12 hits over seven innings, striking out two and walking zero.

Gabi James took the pitching loss for Franklin-Simpson. James surrendered five runs on five hits over two innings, striking out two and walking one.

Bears blank Russellville, 13-0

 

MORGANTOWN - Butler County blanked visiting Russellville 13-0 in five innings in a high school baseball game on Friday, May 21.

Kolton Hudson was the winning pitcher for the Bears. Hudson pitched four innings, allowing zero runs and two hits while recording eight strikeouts and walking none. 

Closing out the game on the mound for Butler County, Chance Castlen threw one inning in relief.

Daylan Roberts took the pitching loss for Russellville. Roberts allowed six runs on four hits and walked one.

Bears outlast Apollo, 8-7

 

OWENSBORO - Butler County outlasted host Apollo 8-7 in a high school softball game on Friday, May 21.

The Bears held on to win after Apollo plated three runs in the bottom half of the seventh inning. 

Aliceson Hunt earned the win in the circle for Butler County. Hunt allowed seven runs on 12 hits over seven innings, striking out two and walking zero.

Emmie Bullington took the pitching loss for Apollo. Bullington allowed eight runs on 10 hits while striking out six over seven innings.

Bears outlast Russellville, 7-6

RUSSELLVILLE - Visiting Butler County outlasted Russellville 7-6 in a high school softball game on Monday, May 17.

Aliceson Hunt earned the win in the circle for the Bears. Hunt pitched a complete game, allowing six runs on 11 hits while striking out three and walking zero over seven innings.

Amiyah Collier took the pitching loss for Russellville. Collier pitched three and a third innings, allowing five runs on five hits while striking out one and walking one.

Bears drop home game to Ohio County

 

MORGANTOWN - Butler County fell behind early and couldn't battle back as Ohio County prevailed 7-4 in a high school softball game on Thursday, May 13.

Addyson Decker earned the win in the circle for Ohio County. Decker surrendered four runs on six hits over seven innings, recording seven strikeouts. 

Aliceson Hunt took the pitching loss for Butler County. Hunt allowed seven runs on nine hits over seven innings, striking out seven and walking zero.

Bears lose to Logan County 

 

MORGANTOWN - Following a scoreless first inning, Butler County gave up three runs in the top half of the second stanza and couldn't battle back as visiting Logan County eventually prevailed 7-1 in a high school baseball game on Thursday, May 13.

Keaton Slaughter earned the win on the mound for Logan County. Slaughter surrendered one run on seven hits over seven innings, recording five strikeouts.
