MORGANTOWN - Seven Butler County Bears have earned All-Academic honors from the Kentucky Softball Coaches Association. 

The honors are based off the GPA on a 4.0 scale.

Only high school juniors and seniors are eligible to be honored.

Although the Green River Catfish Festival will be absent this year, the annual fishing tournament will still be in full swing. 

With 50 tagged fish, there is over $15,000 in tagged fish value.

LEXINGTON - Butler County was well represented at the KHSAA Class 2A State Meet at the University of Kentucky Track & Field Complex on Friday, June 11.

Several members of the Butler County track and field program concluded the 2021 season at the state meet. 

LEXINGTON - Butler County High School student-athletes will be sidelined June 25-July 9 via the Kentucky High School Athletic Association Dead Period.

LEXINGTON - Butler County senior hurdler Landon Binion is set to compete in the 2021 KHSAA State Track and Field Championships at the University of Kentucky on Friday, June 11. 

Binion won the 300 meter hurdles title in the Class 2A, Region 2 Meet in Bowling Green on June 1, finishing the event in 42.72.

Bears Capture 12th District Softball Title

WHITESVILLE  - Butler County scored four runs over its final two at-bats to pull away to defeat Whitesville Trinity 7-3 in the 12th District Softball Tournament title game on Thursday, June 3.

MORGANTOWN -Butler County is hosting the 3rd Region Tournament for the first time in 16 years. Superintendent Robert Tuck welcomed everyone to the school campus and Mayor Billy Phelps welcomed everyone to Morgantown on Saturday morning.  Butler County Judge Executive Tim Flener gave the invocation and Jessilynn Embry sang the National Anthem.
