Henderson surpasses 1,000 passing yards

MORGANTOWN - Butler County senior quarterback Jagger Henderson has surpassed 1,000 passing yards in the 2021 high school football season.

Henderson completed 16 passes for 230 yards and four touchdowns in Butler County's 63-24 win over Clinton County on Friday, Oct. 22 to surpass 1,000 yards. In nine games, Henderson has completed 99 of 178 passes for 1,212 yards and 13 touchdowns. 

Leading Butler County through the air and on the ground, Henderson has rushed 91 times for 497 yards and eight touchdowns.

MORGANTOWN - Butler County is set to host Ohio County for a regular season finale on Friday, Oct. 29. 

Non-district rivals, Butler County and Ohio County are familiar high school football foes.

Henderson leads Bears over Clinton County, 63-24

ALBANY - Quarterback Jagger Henderson led Butler County over Clinton County 63-24 in a non-district high school football game on Friday, Oct. 22.

Following the win, Butler County improved to 5-4.

Clinton County dropped to 1-8 as a result of the loss.

The Bears and Bulldogs are rivals from bordering districts. 

Butler County moved ahead early and gradually pulled away to win convincingly. The Bears led 44-12 at halftime.

MORGANTOWN - Butler County is set to visit Clinton County for a non-district high school football game on Friday, Oct. 22.

 

Familiar foes, Butler County an Clinton County are rivals from bordering districts.

Butler County falls to Whitesville Trinity in district tournament

BROWNSVILLE - Butler County was limited as Whitesville Trinity pulled away to win 3-0 in the semifinals of the 12th District Volleyball Tournament at Edmonson County High School on Monday, Oct. 18.

The loss eliminated Butler County from the high school volleyball postseason. After suffering the loss, Butler County exited the 2021 high school volleyball season 11-16.

With the win, Whitesville Trinity improved to 24-5 and advanced to the 12th District Volleyball Tournament title match.

Bears drop district game to Todd County Central

MORGANTOWN - Butler County fell short as visiting Todd County Central held on to win 18-12 in a Class 2A, District 2 game on Friday, Oct. 15.
Following the loss, Butler County slipped to 4-4 overall and 1-3 in Class 2A, District 2.

OWENSBORO - The Butler County cross country team competed in the Daviess County Classic at Yellow Creek Park on Saturday, Oct. 9.

Girls' 5,000 Meter Run: 59. Harmony Taylor, 24:42.90; 102. Briley Webster, 28:05.51; 106. Emma Winchel, 28:29.68; 139. Ally Brown, 40:22.64.

Schedule set for 12th District Volleyball Tournament

BROWNSVILLE - The schedule is set for the 12th District Volleyball Tournament.

Edmonson County High School is scheduled to host the 12th District Volleyball Tournament Monday, Oct. 18-Tuesday, Oct. 19. 

The teams slated to compete in the 12th District Volleyball Tournament are Edmonson County, Butler County, Whitesville Trinity and Grayson County. 

Butler County is due to face Whitesville Trinity in the opening match of the 12th District Volleyball Tournament at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 18.

Bears to host Todd County Central

MORGANTOWN - Butler County is scheduled to host Todd County Central for a Class 2A, District 2 game on Friday, Oct. 15.

The Bears have dropped back-to-back games. Butler County is 4-3 overall. The Bears are 1-2 in Class 2A, District 2.

Quarterback Jagger Henderson leads Butler County in passing and rushing. In addition to Henderson, Butler County features running back Colton Dunnells and and receiver Solomon Flener.

Bears fall to Owensboro Catholic in district battle

OWENSBORO - Visiting Butler County fell behind early and couldn't battle back as Owensboro Catholic pulled away to win 48-12 in a Class 2A, District 2 football game on Friday, Oct. 8.

Following the loss, Butler County slipped to 4-3 overall and 1-2 in Class 2A, District 2. 

Owensboro Catholic improved to 3-5 overall and 3-0 in Class 2A, District 2 after notching the win.
