From The Sidelines... Butler vs. Russellville

The Butler County High School football team travelled to Russellville to take on the Panthers. The crowd was on their feet the whole night! The Bears took home the win, playing a great game! This is week 3 of From the Sidelines with Journey Hixenbaugh. Way to GLOW Bears!!!


BCMS Football defeats Edmonson County

On Thursday, August 29 the Butler County Middle School Bears football team opened up with their first home game against the Edmonson County Wildcats.


BCHS Volleyball

Week three of the 2019 volleyball season saw the Lady Bears continue their winning ways, with victories over Todd County and Edmonson County.  Tuesday the girls traveled to Elkton and the JV team got things started with a victory in straight sets with scores of 21-8 and 21-15.


Bears fall 54-12 to Edmonson

Edmonson County scored two touchdowns with less than five minutes remaining in the first quarter to take a 14-0 lead over the visiting Butler County Bears during football action on Friday night in Brownsville. That was the beginning of a tough night for Butler County as the Wildcats rolled to a 54-12 win.


From The Sidelines... Butler Co. vs. Edmonson Co.

The BCHS Bears Football team traveled to Edmonson County to take on the Cougars! The Bears had a huge crowd, stands filled with people there to support them. This is week 2 of ‘From the Sidelines…” with Journey Hixenbaugh. Here are some pictures of the cheerleaders, players, coaches, and fans there supporting the Bears!


Gymnastics in Butler County

Over one hundred young ladies signed up for gymnastics. With such a large number the group has divided into two squads and in need of additional mats. They held a fundraiser this weekend at Darren Automotive.


BCMS Football season underway; several home games on tap

The Butler County Middle School Bears football team kicked off the 2019 season on the road against the Breckinridge County Tigers on August 13. In the 7th grade match-up the Bears got off to a rough start and had to fight from behind early.


Butler Co. High School Volleyball

 Last week the Lady Bears opened their volleyball season with three impressive victories defeating Metcalfe County, Russellville, and Frederick Fraize all in straight sets.  Monday night was a double header against Metcalfe and Russellville at Russellville High School.  The Lady bears got off to a slow start against Metcalfe, but played hard and pulled away at the end for a 25-20 win in the first set.  Much better play in the second set saw the girls cruise to a 25-15 victory.  Autumn Gidcumb lead the way with 15 serves, London Howard and Lillian Gidcumd had 33 and 28 sets respectively, whi


Bears fall 55-20 to Logan

The Butler County High School football Bears saw a close first quarter slip away on Friday night en route to a 55-20 loss to Logan County in Russellville.  The Bears trailed 7-0 with only a little over a minute remaining in the first quarter when the Cougars broke for two touchdowns - one a 63-yard run by quarterback Tyler Ezell and the other a result of an onside kick.  Logan’s first touchdown of the game also r
