Butler County High School recognized the senior girls and boys soccer players.

WHITESVILLE — Butler County outlasted Whitesville Trinity 3-2 in a 12th District girls' volleyball match on Tuesday, Sept. 30.

Determined Butler County registered its 10th win in the 2025 girls' high school volleyball season. With the win, Butler County improved to 10-21 overall and 2-3 in the 12th District. 

Butler County won 22-25, 25-22, 20-25, 25-23, 15-12.

MORGANTOWN — Butler County is set to host undefeated Glasgow for its next Class 3A, District 2 matchup in the 2025 high school football season on Friday, Oct. 3. 

MORGANTOWN — Butler County came up short as Edmonson County battled back from behind to win 13-10 in a Class 3A, District 2 game on Friday, Sept. 26.

MORGANTOWN — Butler County is set to host Edmonson County for a Class 3A, District 2 matchup on Friday, Sept. 26.

The Bears and Wildcats did not meet during the 2024 high school football season. Familiar foes Butler County and Edmonson County have not met on the gridiron in a few years. Butler County won the last game played between the two high school football teams, rolling past Edmonson County 35-6 on Aug. 26, 2022. 

HODGENVILLE — Butler County couldn't battle back from behind as LaRue County pulled away to win 44-18 in a Class 3A, District 2 opener on Friday, Sept. 19.

LaRue County dealt Butler County its second straight loss. Following the loss, Butler County slipped to 3-2 overall. 

Butler County was forced to play from behind throughout the Class 3A, District 2 game. 

Butler County Middle School Softball Team honored their eighth grade players.

Callyn Smith is the daughter of Chad and Amber Smith of Rochester.  She has played softball for four years. She is involved in BCMS Basketball, BCHS Softball, Mt. Olivet Youth, and Bluegrass Breeze Softball.
