Bears to Visit McLean County for district opener

MORGANTOWN - Following an open week, Butler County is set to visit rival McLean County for its Class 2A, District 2 opener on Friday, Sept. 24.


Butler County is 3-1 overall. After dropping a season opener to Russellville, Butler County has reeled off three straight wins over Waggener, Breckinridge County and Grayson County. 


BCHS Boys' Golf Team brings home the trophy

The Butler County Boys Golf team traveled to Central City Country Club on Saturday September 18th for the Muhlenburg County Invitational Tournament.

After a slight rain delay the Bears teed off shortly after 9:30 AM. Butler County got things going from the number 10 tee box and played along side Hopkinsville, Dawson Springs and Owensboro.

Jonah Swift got a hot start with a birdie on number 10 and finished the first nine with an even par 36.

Adam Rogers and Drew Daugherty both got things going early as well shooting 39 and 40 through the first nine holes.


Volleyball: Butler County falls to Whitesville Trinity

MORGANTOWN - Butler County dropped a 12th District volleyball match as visiting Whitesville Trinity pulled away to win 3-0 on Tuesday, Sept. 14.
Whitesville Trinity won 25-10, 25-14, 25-20 over the Bears.

Soccer: Bears drop home opener to Muhlenberg County

MORGANTOWN - Butler County was limited offensively as Muhlenberg County pulled away to win 11-1 in a boys' high school soccer match on Monday, Sept. 13.
The Bears and Mustangs, Region 3 rivals from bordering districts, met for the first time in the 2021 boys' high school soccer season. Butler County hosted Muhlenberg County for its home opener.

BCHS Boys' Soccer: Logan County outlasts Butler County, 5-4

RUSSELLVILLE - Visiting Butler County fell short as Logan County held on to win 5-4 in a boys' high school soccer match on Thursday, Sept. 9. 

Andrew Katz scored three goals to lead Logan County to the win.

In addition to Katz's hat trick, Andrew Sweetsir and Daniels Dawson netted one goal apiece for the Cougars.

In addition to finding the net, Dawson delivered assists on two of Logan County's three goals.

Winston-Salem, North Carolina– The Bowling Green Hot Rods (76-34) clinched a postseason berth after a 3-2 win in game one, and split a doubleheader with the Winston-Salem Dash (41-69) after a 9-5 loss in game two at Truist Stadium in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. The two teams will play the fourth game of the series on Friday with a 6:00 PM CT first pitch.


Volleyball: Butler County 3, Muhlenberg County 0

MORGANTOWN - Homestanding Butler County blanked 3rd Region rival Muhlenberg County 3-0 in a high school volleyball match on Tuesday, Aug. 31.

The Bears won 25-18, 25-14, 25-19.

After notching the win, Butler County improved to 5-4.


Bears beat Breckinridge County, 44-13

MORGANTOWN - Notching its second straight win in the 2021 high school football season, Butler County pulled away to beat visiting Breckinridge County 44-13 on Friday, Sept. 3. 

The Bears moved ahead early and gradually pulled away to win convincingly. Butler County (2-1) led 22-7 at halftime.
