Bears headed to Hart County for fifth game

MORGANTOWN — Nearing the midway point of the 2023 high school football season, Butler County is set to visit Hart County for a Class 3A, District 2 opener on Friday, Sept. 15.
The Bears and Raiders did not meet during the 2022 high school football season. 
Butler County is 1-3 overall. After defeating Russellville in its season opener, Butler County has dropped three straight games to Webster County, Warren Central and Grayson County. 
Butler County is averaging 22.2 points per game and will be looking to show improvement both offensively and defensively throughout the second half of the 2023 high school football season.

Hart County is 4-0 overall. The Raiders have notched wins over Spencer County, LaRue County, Green County and Elizabethtown. 
Through its first four games in the 2023 high school football season, unbeaten Hart County has outscored opponents 142-69. Excelling on the ground, Hart County is averaging 333.5 rushing yards and 3.8 rushing touchdowns per game. Leading Hart County, Clark Rexroat has rushed 38 times for 543 yards and four touchdowns.

Following the Kentucky High School Athletic Association's latest realignment, which was finalized in January, Butler County, Hart County, Adair County, Franklin-Simoson and Glasgow comprise Class 3A, District 2.  
Butler County has regular season games remaining versus Hart County, Franklin-Simpson, Bethlehem, Adair County, Glasgow and Ohio County. 
Kickoff for the Butler County-Hart County football game is set for 7 p.m. in Munfordville.
