MORGANTOWN — A total of 19 Butler County High School student-athletes received the KHSAA Triple Threat Award for the 2024-25 schoolyear. 

GREENVILLE — Muhlenberg County prevented Butler County from returning to the win column, shutting out the Lady Bears 3-0 in a 12th District volleyball match on Monday, Aug. 25.

MORGANTOWN — Butler County is set to host Ohio County for its home opener in the 2025 high school football season on Friday, Aug. 29. 

Butler County doubles up Edmonson County 4-2

BROWNSVILLE — Butler County doubled up Edmonson County 4-2 in an 11th District girls' soccer match on Monday, Aug. 25. 

Determined Butler County registered its first win in the 2025 girls' high school soccer season. Butler County entered the win column after opening the season 0-5. 

BOWLING GREEN — Butler County was well-represented in the Warren East Raider Twilight Meet at Ephram White Park on Saturday, Aug. 23.

Individuals and teams from various classes and regions competed in the Warren East Raider Twilight Meet. 

The Butler County boys' and girls' cross country teams are scheduled to compete in the Central Kentucky Run for the Gold at the Elizabethtown Sports Park on Saturday, Aug. 30.

HARNED — Determined Butler County defeated Breckinridge County 42-30 in a 2025 high school football season opener on Friday, Aug. 22. 

The Butler County Bears enter the 2025 season with a revamped schedule. Gone are matchups against Webster County, Bardstown Bethlehem, Logan County, Warren Central, and Franklin-Simpson. In their place, the Bears welcome new opponents: Todd County Central, LaRue County, Edmonson County, Breckinridge County, and Russellville.

MORGANTOWN — Butler County is set to host Muhlenberg County for its final scrimmage in the 2025 high school football preseason at 6 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 15.
