Willadean (Muffett) Embry, 90, of Millwood, passed away Tuesday, January 27th, 2015 at Grayson Manor in Leitchfield. 

She was born on June 24th, 1924 in Caneyville, the daughter of the late John C. and Lelia (Haycraft) Muffett. Willadean was a member of the New Harvest Baptist Church. She was a loving house wife and homemaker.

Charles Weldon Clark

Charles Weldon Clark, age 78, of Tierra Verde, Florida and Morgantown, Kentucky passed away on Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at the St. Anthony's Hospital in St. Petersburg, Florida. He was born July 9, 1936 in the Dunbar community of Butler County to the late Tilford and Pearl Whitaker Clark. Charles graduated from Butler County High School where he played basketball and was an avid fan of sports, always having a sports station on.

Billy Howe age 75, of  Morgantown, Ky. passed away Saturday, January 24, 2015 at the Muhlenberg Community Hospital in Greenville, Ky.  Billy was born in Muhlenberg County on May 25, 1939  to the late Zona Oliver Howe and Elizabeth Edwards Howe. He is preceded in death by his parents and wife; Patricia Ann Riley Howe.

Leaman Milam Hunt, 85 of Auburn, Kentucky died on Tuesday, January 20, 2015, at Greenview Hospital in Bowling Green, Kentucky.

He was born Thursday, July 25, 1929 in Butler County, Kentucky, the son of the late Crawford Hunt and the late Ester Gibson Hunt. He was the husband of the late Augusta Porter Hunt.

He was a self employed farmer.

Codie Elwood Minton

 Codie Elwood Minton, 65, of  Bloomington, In., formerly of Morgantown,  passed away Friday, January 16, 2015 at the IU Health Bloomington Hospital in Bloomington, In.  He was born in the Little Bend community of Butler Co. on  July 26, 1949  to the late Delbert and Agnes Embry Minton.  Codie was an escort for Otto Rone Trucking and a logger in South Hill for 15 years.  He served in Vietnam from 1967-1970.  He enjoyed fishing, camping and mushroom hunting.   He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Brodie Minton and nephew Rubin Minton.

Jason Lee Burden, 30 of Morgantown, Ky. passed away Saturday January 10, 2015 in Edmonson County, Kentucky. Jason was born April 3, 1984 in Warren County Kentucky to Ronnie Burden and Mary Lisa Johnson. He attended Leonard Oak General Baptist Church and was a ordained minister.

James Reno Buckles, M.D.

James Reno Buckles, M.D., 85, of Caneyville died at 8:44 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 10, 2015, at TriStar Greenview Regional Hospital in Bowling Green.
He was born Aug. 18, 1929, in Caneyville to Henry Hugh "Shorty" and Madeline "Nettie" (Taylor) Buckles Sr.. A graduate of Western Kentucky and the University of Louisville Medical School, he practiced medicine, primarily in Caneyville, from 1967 until his retirement in 2011. He was a lifelong member of Caneyville Christian Church.

John Douglas Hunt, 72, of  Morgantown, Ky. passed away Monday, Jan. 12, 2015 at his Residence.  John was born December 20, 1942  in Butler Co., Ky. to the late Karl Douglas and Amy Hammers Hunt. He was a general maintenance worker and enjoyed taking care of  his lawn and garden.   He was  preceded  in death by his parents, brothers Delbert, Hugh, Thomas and Max Hunt; sister Patty Hunt Gravil.

Shelby Gene Smith

Shelby Gene Smith, 68 years, of Edgerton, passed away Friday, January 9, 2015 at Parkview Nursing Center, Edgerton.  Shelby was born July 25, 1946 in Aberdeen, Kentucky, the son of the late James and Ethel (Phelps) Smith.  He was a 1964 graduate of Butler County High School, Morgantown, Kentucky.  Shelby served in the United State Army during the Vietnam Era.  Shelby drove truck, was a Tug Boat Captain and also worked in construction.  In his younger years, Shelby worked in the Oil Fields in Texas and also at General Electric in Fort Wayne.  He enjoyed woodworking and gardening.

Beauther “Boots” Johnson

Beauther “Boots” Johnson, 83, of Owensboro, died Thursday, Jan. 8, 2015, at his home. He was born in Magan to the late Ivan and Gwendolyn Johnson.

He was retired from Commonwealth Aluminum, was a member of Seven Hills Baptist Church and attended Christ Community Church. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and spending time with his children and grandchildren.

He also was preceded in death by his wife, Verlene B. Johnson; and a son-in-law, Stephen Young.
