James Reno Buckles, M.D.

James Reno Buckles, M.D., 85, of Caneyville died at 8:44 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 10, 2015, at TriStar Greenview Regional Hospital in Bowling Green.
He was born Aug. 18, 1929, in Caneyville to Henry Hugh "Shorty" and Madeline "Nettie" (Taylor) Buckles Sr.. A graduate of Western Kentucky and the University of Louisville Medical School, he practiced medicine, primarily in Caneyville, from 1967 until his retirement in 2011. He was a lifelong member of Caneyville Christian Church.
Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Gladys; three daughters, Merry Lynn (Hub), and Holly, both of Caneyville, and Donna (Chuck) Stinnett of Henderson; two sons, Dennis (Teresa) of Caneyvillle and Allan (Marty) of Leitchfield; eight grandchildren, Mark (Christy) Buckles of Leitchfield, Martha (Steve) Hayes of Lexington, Marita Buckles of Nashville, Tenn., Tyler (Erinn) Green of Cincinnati, Rachel (Keith) Brown of Bowling Green, Rebecca (Josh) Hein of Henderson, Grant (Charlene) Buckles of Atlanta, Ga., and Daniel Buckles of Leitchfield; five great-grandchildren, Taylor Buckles of Bowling Green, Reese Hayes of Lexington, T.J. and Caroline Green of Cincinnati and Anna Margaret Brown of Bowling Green; one sister, Louise Beasley of Leitchfield; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Henry Hugh Jr.; and a granddaughter, Allison Wood Stinnett.

A private family funeral and graveside service have been planned. Bro. David Brown will officiate.
Burial will be in Layman Memorial Cemetery.
Dermitt-Joyce Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers include grandsons, grandsons-in-law and Granvil Vincent.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Caneyville Christian Church or Caneyville Purple Flash Fund in care of City of Caneyville.
