Reeta Annetta Porter Burden

Reeta Annetta Porter Burden, 80, of Morgantown, Ky., passed away Monday, October 9, 2017 at the Morgantown Care and Rehab Center. She was born in Butler Co. on Jan. 25, 1937 to the late Barna Clay and Violet Casey Porter. She was a former City Clerk, Chief Deputy Circuit Court Clerk, a member of Aberdeen Baptist Church, Green River Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution and Safe Harbor. Reeta was an artist, entrepreneur, animal activist and loved singing and playing music. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Jesse Ray Burden; brothers Clay, Charlie and Danny Porter.

Mrs. Burden is survived by her daughters Sheila Hunt (Ronnie) of Morgantown, Christal Raley and Jennifer Burden both of Bowling Green; grandchildren Melanie Hunt and Jesse Hunt of Morgantown, Abigail and Aaron Raley of Bowling Green, Dana Rowland (Christopher) of McHenry and Derek Hardin (Jessica) of Louisville; three great grandchildren; two sisters Gailya Berry of Owensboro and Christine Coleman (Denzil) of Morgantown.

Funeral Service will be held at Smith Funeral Home on Friday, Oct. 13 at 11am.

Burial will follow in the Aberdeen Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, Oct. 12 from 4-8pm and Friday from 8am until time of service at Smith Funeral Home.
