James W. Sorrels, 82 of Morgantown, Kentucky passed away Saturday, January 20, 2018, at the Alive Hospice at TriStar Skyline in Madison TN. James was born March 5, 1935, in Hartford, Kentucky to the late Cecil and Edna Mae Rogers Sorrels and husband of the late Vennie Faye Dockery Sorrels. He was of the Baptist faith and retired from the steel mill. Other than his parents and wife he is preceded in death by one sister and one brother.

James W. Sorrels is survived by two sons Don Sorrels and wife Mindy of Glasgow, Kentucky and Steve Sorrels of Valparaiso, Indiana; two daughters Diana Byrd of Hammond, Indiana and Cindy Fenik and husband Chris of Hobart, Indiana; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two brothers Bob and Tom Sorrels; two sisters Barbara Jo Shake and Bonnie Sharp and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at the Jones Funeral Chapel Friday, January 26, 2018, at 12:00 pm. Burial will be in the Zion Harmony Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 25, 2018, from 3:00 pm - 8:00 pm and Friday 8:00 am until funeral time at 12:00 pm at the Jones Funeral Chapel.
