Edna Reed Hoagland Vaughn Wade

Edna Reed Hoagland Vaughn Wade, 84, of  Morgantown, Ky., passed away Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2018 at the Medical Center in Bowling Green.  She was born in the community of Buford in Ohio Co. on Feb. 14, 1933 to the late Hobart and Ova Mae Mosley Hoagland.  She retired from the General Electric Company after 30 years of service.  Edna was a member of the Living Hope Baptist Church where she was very involved in the senior adult ministry.  She loved to travel and listen to country music.  Ms. Wade was preceded in death by her parents; son Darrell Vaughn; brother John Hoagland; sisters Thelma Depriest and Winnie Lucius.

 

Ms. Wade is survived by two children Deborah Hammers (Clark) of Morgantown and Dean Vaughn (Vanessa) of Bowling Green; seven grandchildren Adam Gabbard (Jamey) of Morgantown, Andrew Gabbard (Misty) of Morgantown, Clark Thomas Hammers of Louisville, Whitney Howard (Michael) of Bowling Green, Mallory Vaughn of Bowling Green, Amber Vaughn of Lafayette, Tn., Jonathan Daniel of Bowling Green; three great grandchildren Caleb Gabbard and Kipton Gabbard both of Morgantown; Audrey Rae Vaughn of Lafayette, Tn.; two sisters Margie King-Maxwell of Owensboro and Joann Royal of Owensboro; brother Freddie Hoagland of Lakeland, Fl.

 

Funeral Service will be held at Smith Funeral Home on Saturday, Jan. 20, 2018 at 1 pm.  Burial will follow in the Mount Carmel Cemetery in Ohio Co.  Visitation will be held on Friday, Jan. 19 from 2-8 pm and Saturday 9 am until time of service at Smith Funeral Home.  

In lieu of flowers the family ask that donations be made to the Hospitality House at the Medical Center in Bowling Green, 501 High St., Bowling Green, Ky.  42101.
