Bears 12th District Softball Champions

Bears Capture 12th District Softball Title

WHITESVILLE  - Butler County scored four runs over its final two at-bats to pull away to defeat Whitesville Trinity 7-3 in the 12th District Softball Tournament title game on Thursday, June 3.

Aliceson Hunt earned the win in the circle for the Bears. Hunt pitched a complete game, surrendering three runs on eight hits while striking out four and walking zero over seven innings.

Allie Barnett took the pitching loss for Whitesville Trinity. Barnett pitched four and two-thirds innings, allowing six runs on nine hits while walking zero.

Butler County outhit Whitesville Trinity 11-8.

Aleace Hall, Autumn Proctor and Aubrey Clark each homered for the Bears. 

Hall, Proctor and Olivia Austin recorded two hits apiece for the Bears. Hunt, Proctor and Austin each hit a triple for Butler county in the district title-clinching victory. 

Moving runners around the bases, Hall and Proctor drove in two runs apiece. 

Madison McDaniel and Raylee Higdon paced the Raiders at the plate, delivering two hits apiece. McDaniel doubled while Cassidy Morris, who drove in two runs for the Raiders, belted a home run. 

Butler County notched its 30th win in the 2021 high school softball season.

Both Butler County (30-7) and Whitesville Trinity (14-16) advance to the 3rd Region Softball Tournament. 

Carly Jones, Allie Hunt, Aleace Hall, and Olivia Austin are now a part of the All Tournament Team
