Hot Rods secure third win in two days against the Crawdads

Bowling Green, Kentucky– The Bowling Green Hot Rods (72-33) swept both games of a doubleheader 3-2 and 8-3 against the Hickory Crawdads (45-57) on Thursday at Bowling Green Ballpark in Bowling Green, Kentucky. The two teams play the fourth game of the series on Friday with a 6:35 PM CT first pitch.

SOCCER: Lady Bears drop district match to Grayson; Russellville deals Bears second loss

Visiting Butler County reached the net twice but fell short as Grayson County pulled away to win 7-2 in an 11th District girls' soccer match on Tuesday, Aug. 24.

Coray Milam, Ellie Evans and Mikayla Clemons scored two goals apiece to lead the Cougars to the district win.

Rounding out Grayson County's individual scoring, Malorie Zurmehly netted one goal.

Goalkeeper Eva Pierce paced Grayson County's defensive effort, recording 12 saves while limiting Butler County to a pair of goals.

Bears beat Waggener for first win in 2021 season

Notching its first win in the 2021 high school football season, Butler County beat visiting Waggener 20-14 on Friday, Aug. 27.

Following the win, Butler County evened its record to 1-1.

As a result of the loss, Waggener, a team from Louisville, dropped to 0-2.

The Hot Rods are off on Monday before starting a 12-game homestand on Tuesday, beginning with a sixgame set against the Rome Braves.
